For better roming is put os rom and radio rom on same folder then upgrade to your device. Likes WM60 Rom and radio 1.43 rom.

No you do not want to use this. It is so old and buggy. You will have many issues. Read stickies and flashing guides.

I installed your OS and it looks great. Aside from a few tweaks it's perfect. Thanks for the great work. Donation definitely well spent.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

This ROM is so old. Use something newer. If you let the old customizations run there will be problems. Which is why you need to use a newer ROM.

Please read, even just a few posts above. You need to use a newer ROM or hard reset then hit soft reset before the OEM stuff runs. I really reccomend using as newer ROM as this is the oldest one in the book and has several minor bugs.

You been yelling at everyone my man. The first thread has all the dated information linked. That's where most people look for the files. I read the first few pages and the last few and I agree its a dated ROM and everything else but until those links are fixed or this thread is archived your going to get people trying those links in the first post.

You seem to know what your talking about so instead of yelling at everyone start a new thread with updated information and request that this one is archived.

If not just stop commenting because you being no help at all.

I am not yelling at anyone, just trying to point out to people that they should use a newer build/ROM. Most often we see problems come up and people mention they're using old ROMs like this. And also quite often they are thing the newer ROMs have worked out.

I know that in the past I have been harsh to the newer users on this board, for not searching and such, and I have also apologized to them. I strive to help everyone that I can and contribute to this place. I find it odd that someone who has never contributed anything to this community is coming in here and telling me I am no help at all...

Checked your bootloader? This only works for the older bootloader, not the x.04/x.05

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Ok let me give as much information as possible in order to get help resolving this issue:

Attempted to upgrade my Verizon XV6700 with file:

APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe

(...Obviously, my Verizon XV6700 phone is on the Cricket network :)

1. Placed the phone in "bootloader" mode. (Holding the camera, power and soft restart buttons at the same time.. We good so far?)

2. Phone goes into a dark screen mode (no backlight) but says "Serial" at the top. Everything seems to be working OK according to plan.... Next I Plug in the USB cable and the screen changes to "USB" .. Ok that's what it's supposed to do ... next...

3. I run the "APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe" file from my PC desktop. (Active sync is irrelevant in this equasion in fact I understand it should be turned off completely.) The file (APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe) starts up and runs on my PC for a few monents and seems to be checking the phones current configuration etc..... THEN it spits back a message as follows:

" Error 150:ROM upgrade utility error "

I tried to flash it several times.

It seems the bootloader screen reads USB at the top and v1.04 at the bottom right corner.

...So do I understand that it will not work with v.1.04? Is that the issue? I need an older ROM?

Can the flash file "APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe" be updated to work with v.1.04?

So my question is, How does a person resolve this issue exactly?

Don't tell me an answer like "kitchen it" because I have absolutely no idea what that means i should do EXACTLY...

"DETAILED" explanations or perhaps links to alternative solutions, files, d/l's etc. that DOES WORK to upgrade this phone much appreciated.

How much you wanna bet I am not alone and there are 100's of other people are reading this with the same exact problem but they too cannot find any answers or solutions to this

" Error 150:ROM upgrade utility error "

problem....? (Just hit the THANKS button if you are one of them !!!...)

Who has the solution?

Thanks.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

I'm having the exact same problem. I have a Verizon XV6700 and am trying to use it on Verizon. I have bootloader 1.02 installed and downloaded the VZW bootloader 1.02 file, however I get the 150 upgrade error as well. This phone doesn't even have a ROM currently installed on it, as it was previously erased after I was getting all the tsksheduler bugs on the screen. Can someone PLEASE point me in the right direction? I've started threads in the Apache forum twice now, had 40+ view it, but not a single reply. I'm new to all of this as well and just want the phone to work. Nothing fancy. Thanks.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Firstly, thanks, this is awsome.

Secondly I've done this once before with another xv6700 and it went flawlessly from a 32-bit XP machine. Now I'm trying it from a 64-bit win 7 machine and to a different device, but same model and carrier. I connect and start the program, which identifies my radio firmware ect., then I tell it to install the firmware and my device reboots and gets stuck in bootloader mode and the program doesn't install the firmware. I have to run the below instructions I found elsewhere to unstick it, but I can't seem to get this to install. I even tried using Windows XP mode and connecting the phone to the VM through the USB emulation.

Any idea what's going wrong? Is there some way to tell it to install if I manually put it in bootloader mode instead of it rebooting itself after identifying the phone? Do I have to do this from a 32-bit machine?

For some reason this phone seems to loose the backlight when plugged into a usb port (power or data) and when in bootloader mode I can hardly see the text and have to tilt it to see. I have bootloader 1.04.

For thoose who stuck in bootloader this is how to unstuck:
1. Get Mtty here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/28321691/mtty1.42.zip.html
2. Right Click Activesync icon in tray, and select connection setting, then un-mark Allow USB connections at Activesync Connection settings.

3. Extract the zip file and Run mtty.exe and select USB from the Port dropdows list and then click OK button.
http://www.imagehosting.com/out.php/...ectusbport.PNG
4. press Enter two times for showin USB>
5. Type:
set 14 0
[ENTER]
task 8
[ENTER]
(for soft-reset).

6. Ur device should reset and u might close mtty utility.
7. Done.

Hey i seem to be having trouble with flashing. i am sorta a noob at this but i think i understand it pretty well. When i try to plash i get stuck in bootloader screen and i get error message 101: connection error. i am running bootloader v2.05 on my verizon XV6700 and i am assuming i must downgrade my BL. I wanted to use Hemi's kitchen but for some reason the links on that forum no longer work ( if anyone has it, it'd be nice to get that kitchen) any help with my troubles would be nice. i have been having problems for about 2 weeks now and despite all my research online i cant find kitchen and bootloaders ANYWHERE online. ohh yeah and i am running on windows 7 but i have windows xp sp3 i believe readily available. any ideas?

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Hi,

I just got a used UTStarcom PPC-6700 from Sprint. I will be using it without a service or connection. I has Windows 5.0 on it. What is the latest version that I can install on it?

Is there a possibility to install android on this phone?

In this process if something wrong happens and if I am unable to boot the device, can I restore the old ROM (Win 5) using the upgrade available in Sprint website.

I am really new to mobile platform.. Any pointers/help will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks for reading my post!

How can we get this without the REsco stuffs and the Deepfish? I don't have a need for all the extra programs. I just want the basics the HTC stuff is awesome, I just don't want Deepfish, the extra calculator, the extra Resco Explorer stuff (need codes for it to work, just holding up rom space) Please help?

Not concerning esn ect.. how would I force say the verizon or generic rom on a sprint 6700? I only ask because my 6700 is a clone of my treo hence on verizon. So I am not worried that verizon wont allow the esn, but this sprint firmware (phone part) is not working right.. I have done custom mods on the treo, and known at shadowmite to do a official verizon mod on a sprint treo 650.. But new to Ce and ppc... Any help? Nicklowicz@att.net.. I like the update so far, but when I try verizon update it says error on language and generic fails and says incorrect device
