Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Ok let me give as much information as possible in order to get help resolving this issue:

Attempted to upgrade my Verizon XV6700 with file:

APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe

(...Obviously, my Verizon XV6700 phone is on the Cricket network :)

1. Placed the phone in "bootloader" mode. (Holding the camera, power and soft restart buttons at the same time.. We good so far?)

2. Phone goes into a dark screen mode (no backlight) but says "Serial" at the top. Everything seems to be working OK according to plan.... Next I Plug in the USB cable and the screen changes to "USB" .. Ok that's what it's supposed to do ... next...

3. I run the "APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe" file from my PC desktop. (Active sync is irrelevant in this equasion in fact I understand it should be turned off completely.) The file (APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe) starts up and runs on my PC for a few monents and seems to be checking the phones current configuration etc..... THEN it spits back a message as follows:

" Error 150:ROM upgrade utility error "

I tried to flash it several times.

It seems the bootloader screen reads USB at the top and v1.04 at the bottom right corner.

...So do I understand that it will not work with v.1.04? Is that the issue? I need an older ROM?

Can the flash file "APAC_WM6_R0_Cricket.exe" be updated to work with v.1.04?

So my question is, How does a person resolve this issue exactly?

Don't tell me an answer like "kitchen it" because I have absolutely no idea what that means i should do EXACTLY...

"DETAILED" explanations or perhaps links to alternative solutions, files, d/l's etc. that DOES WORK to upgrade this phone much appreciated.

How much you wanna bet I am not alone and there are 100's of other people are reading this with the same exact problem but they too cannot find any answers or solutions to this

" Error 150:ROM upgrade utility error "

problem....? (Just hit the THANKS button if you are one of them !!!...)

Who has the solution?

Thanks.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

I'm having the exact same problem. I have a Verizon XV6700 and am trying to use it on Verizon. I have bootloader 1.02 installed and downloaded the VZW bootloader 1.02 file, however I get the 150 upgrade error as well. This phone doesn't even have a ROM currently installed on it, as it was previously erased after I was getting all the tsksheduler bugs on the screen. Can someone PLEASE point me in the right direction? I've started threads in the Apache forum twice now, had 40+ view it, but not a single reply. I'm new to all of this as well and just want the phone to work. Nothing fancy. Thanks.

Re: Apache WM6 CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

Firstly, thanks, this is awsome.

Secondly I've done this once before with another xv6700 and it went flawlessly from a 32-bit XP machine. Now I'm trying it from a 64-bit win 7 machine and to a different device, but same model and carrier. I connect and start the program, which identifies my radio firmware ect., then I tell it to install the firmware and my device reboots and gets stuck in bootloader mode and the program doesn't install the firmware. I have to run the below instructions I found elsewhere to unstick it, but I can't seem to get this to install. I even tried using Windows XP mode and connecting the phone to the VM through the USB emulation.

Any idea what's going wrong? Is there some way to tell it to install if I manually put it in bootloader mode instead of it rebooting itself after identifying the phone? Do I have to do this from a 32-bit machine?

For some reason this phone seems to loose the backlight when plugged into a usb port (power or data) and when in bootloader mode I can hardly see the text and have to tilt it to see. I have bootloader 1.04.

For thoose who stuck in bootloader this is how to unstuck:
1. Get Mtty here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/28321691/mtty1.42.zip.html
2. Right Click Activesync icon in tray, and select connection setting, then un-mark Allow USB connections at Activesync Connection settings.

Hey i seem to be having trouble with flashing. i am sorta a noob at this but i think i understand it pretty well. When i try to plash i get stuck in bootloader screen and i get error message 101: connection error. i am running bootloader v2.05 on my verizon XV6700 and i am assuming i must downgrade my BL. I wanted to use Hemi's kitchen but for some reason the links on that forum no longer work ( if anyone has it, it'd be nice to get that kitchen) any help with my troubles would be nice. i have been having problems for about 2 weeks now and despite all my research online i cant find kitchen and bootloaders ANYWHERE online. ohh yeah and i am running on windows 7 but i have windows xp sp3 i believe readily available. any ideas?

Oh yeah and i am easily able to get unstuck from bootloader.( that took some time to figure out too) so im not worried at all about getting stuck and am willing to try anything.

I'm very new to this and since i have the xv6700 the phone part doesn't work so i'm just fooling around with it could really care less if i fry it or not but could someone help me with some detailed "blond" instructions? the bootloader option wont go into bootloader and how would i get the program on there once in bootloader mode? i have it on memory stick and is called GENO.rar i'm at a bit of a stand still here, if anyone could do a chat session that would be even better thanks almost forgot i'm running serial bootloader 2.02 if that makes a difference.
