Beam issues with a Kitchen build
Rugh...
So, I try to get the most out of my hardware. I saw the IR port on the side of my Apache, and figured I could put it to some use for once. My "new" (lol old) laptop has an IR port and no Bluetooth. The quickest way, then, for me to load a file onto the PPC is through IR. But with my WM6.1 ROM, beam seems to be broken! It's been posted several times here, but each post has been completely ignored by others - hence, no solution. By a quick glance using my cell phone camera, it appears that the PPC isn't even putting out an IR signal. Beam receive is turned on, and enabled in the comms manager. I've even cycled it off and on a few times. It seems to work for a minute or so when it's freshly rebooted, but then dies after it's put into standby for the first time since a reboot - it just doesn't turn back on with the device. Solutions, suggestions, comments, or otherwise? |
Re: Beam issues with a Kitchen build
I never used IR while I had WM6.1, I know it works with WM6, which is currently what I'm using again. Ufortunatly there's a lot of bugs with WM6.1 for Apache that never got fixed. Things I didn't relize till I switced back. I posted threads about bugs too and no one ever got back to me :(

Re: Beam issues with a Kitchen build
I used Beam to send some files to another phone (stock XV6800) and didn't have issues, though I don't know about receiving files.

Re: Beam issues with a Kitchen build
u should turn it on using connection >> beam
don't use comm manager... comm manager cannot turn it on.. it just fake... actually they don't turn it on / off... |
Re: Beam issues with a Kitchen build
Huh? It works fine for me. I even check in the beam settings and it was I as put it to. Tell me, why would it be "fake"?
