Finding out Bootloader Version

Is there a way to find out the bootloader version without hardbooting the phone? Does going into bootloader mode force you into loading or can you cancel and get out of it. It's been almost a year since I've done it so I don't remember. Thanks!

You do not have to hard reset to get into BL mode and there is no other way to know other than to go into to BL mode. Getting into BL mode does not force you to load anything and you can get out of BL simply by pressing the reset button with your stylus.

Remember to get into BL mode (since you say its been 3 yrs) you have to press both soft keys (minus keys) and hold them while pressing the reset button.

Yo weedahoe, that's hard reset. BL is power + notes and reset.

Never a problem. BTW, just in case, all you need to do to exit without hard reset is answer no.

Thanks all! I couldn't remember if you just get stuck in BL mode. Thanks for the confirmation! I got v1.00. Man my unit must be old.

LOL, you never cease to make me laugh. I think you wanted him to hard reset ;) Oh and it's actually the record button. I wish my unit still had that version. My oldest unit still does. V1.00 for me worked with out any probllems and has biggest rom size.

Hahaha...well the two '-' keys + reset button seemed wrong to me b/c I recently did a hard reboot to get my phone get unstuck from the splash screen after Opera 9.5 beta locked up my phone....so no harm no foul.

I like some of the clean looking interface (As you can tell) but it's nothing like Windows Mobile. I love my Pocket PC!

Or, if you're like me, you've lost your fifth stylus from throwing your phone across the room after calling Sprint customer care and you have to use whatever you can find lying around.

Lave it as is. No point in messing with it. I got four different devices with different bootloaders. I can put the same ammount in each one with no problem.

That is true. But you would have to load a lot of junk into it. Most people do a stripped down rom so it doesn't matter.

That equals to a fast streamline stable and efficient ROM

I could not agree more. The more info I try cooking in, the more I just end up reflashing because of conflicts. Lean and mean is the way to go.

Yep. That's why I tell people that there is no reason to revert bootloader to try to gain rom space.
