from winmo 6 to 6.1 issue - help!
 

Hi,

I'm not a newbie when it comes to device hacking. But here I just got this ppc 6700 (sprint) so i'm new in this particular department.
I upgraded it to WinMo 6 thru that ROM "APAC_WM6_RO_Sprint". This was simple and easy.

Now i wanted to upgrade to WinMo 6.1 so i discovered the kitchen stuff. I did all the steps (Updater, bios, select programs, cooking, flash, tried lenny and helmi) and it systematicly bricks the phone. i have to reflash it with the "APAC_WM6_RO_Sprint" file in order for the phone to work again.

I don't know what am i doing wrong. here are screenshots.

also i was wondering if someone could just upload their working cooked ROM (I dont care whatever ingredients you used for the cooking as long as
WinMo 6.1 works). I tried to find ROMS on the internet but they are nowhere to be found.

6700development.com has a few that were based of Helmi_C. Although, I never got to test one becasuse the owner told me he would make me a v1.04 and he never followed through so...if you used the original WM6 rom then you either have v.1.00 or v1.02 which will work with his rom. I would try to help you out with the kitchen but, I can't see with those screenshots. Good Luck.

now i see why noone would help me. the screen shot were not showing full size. I fixed it and edited the first post.

yes my botload is 1.02... (i tried both helmi and lenny and both brick my phone)

K, looked at the screen shots. You have "REV" set to v1.00, those numbers need to match your bootloader, in your case it's v1.02 so REV needs to be set to that value. Hope this helps, thanks. Edit: Also you might want to use NoID for the RUU.

thanks. i followed ur advice with the rev and it still bricked. i also tried with both RUU on noId and standard...

It's not bricked (meaning it is no longer functional) it's just in bootloader. Hard reset a few times then start flashing with standard RUU and REV 1.02. It will work after a few tries.

thats what i meant by "brick". as i know how to "unbrick" it each time it happens (about 30 tries) this is not the issue..

so i guess its just not working with vista then. it shoudve been mentioned somewhere so i woudve save all these hours trying

i was thinking... when i upgraded from winmo 5 to winmo 6 inoticed that the partition changed. would that be the problem?

also would it be possible for anyone to upload their rom on rapidshare?
