carrier customize

I d/l everything to setup my phone w/ 6.1, but in the buildOS i don't have anything under the carrier customize other than ExtRom Unlock. When doing 6.0 i remember having a choice from verizon, sprint etc...

The service I use is Verizon, do i need to have this in order to install 6.1, or just select Verizon from the carrier at top? when the buildOS opens, the carrier box is red and blank.

What is extrom unlock for or what does it do? And what is the ROMRevType=v1.04 for?

Re: carrier customize

There are 4 flashable rom segments: bootloader, radio, os, ext rom. The ext rom segment typically contains carrier customizations, is hidden, and is locked (read only).

If you flash a custom rom, you have no need of what your carrier put in the ext rom segment. To make it useable, however, you have to unlock (make writeable) and unhide the semgment. This isn't done by default because some software doesn't play nice when ext rom is visible and unlocked..

Is it not completely obvious? It sets ROMRevType to v1.04.
