It seems much better for me in the 19213 kitchen that was just recently released. I notice almost no lag when typing and I get a lot fewer mistakes from it missing characters while typing.

I Set my PagePool Size at 10. Havent had any problems since.

I think you loose a lot of program memory when you do that; I have now 30MB of free memory, on boot. When I did that page pool, it dropped it down to less than 20MB.

i just dont understand why this is such a huge issue.

inputting text works fine in Palringo messenger... i think the best solution would be to increase the priority of the messenger executable, but your MP3s would definately skip while inputting text

indeed it does seem to be fixed with a pagepool sizeof 8 i can even store high quality 1.3megapixel photos to my storage card without out of memory errors too. works real smooth and quick this version but its a new phone(i had the old one just replaced) so we'll see how it pans out in the long run

there is definately a lot of bugginess with it. it will always work great (predictive text or not) for the first week or so after a fresh flash. over time, it gets slower and slow (again - predictive text on or off - it is a problem with either setting)... although it is less slow with predictive text off. I also turned of captitalization and auto-correct. Turning of capitalization doesnt work at all... it still capitalizes. Turning off auto-correct seemed to help some... but over time, it still slows down. I have a theory that no matter what you have on or off, the functions to correct or suggest are still running in the background but do not actually take action. If this is the case, then the phone (over time) is constantly increasing the size of the dictionary - and thus taking longer to compare against it for each word as it grows. This might be why people see an improvement with an alternate SMS threader.

You might be on to something. I used to clear my dictionary once a week on my old Apache and I never had this problem. I have never cleared it on my new Apache. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

I sent a few messages and it helped a bit. I'll try it over the weekend and leave my findings.

sorry i was wrong about this.... its not fixed yet. bugs the living s**t out of me too! its so difficult to communicate with people i have to go back and correct like 20 typos per sentence

Yes, it is definitely, not yet fixed. It may be improved, if you increase the page-pool; even then, it still isn't working properly, and was not required to do this in previous versions. So, I really hope this issue gets worked out.
