PIM.vol kills contacts

Before I upgraded to WM6 I backed up my pim.vol file. After I upgraded, I copied it back to the root of the device and now as soon as I go to contacts, it closes as soon as it opens.

I have to put the blank pim.vol back in the root of the device before contacts will work.

anyway I can get these back?

Thanks,

Re: PIM.vol kills contacts

Yeah, this is a symptom of the old style pim.vol being incompatible with WM 6.x. You will need to flash back to WM 5 and then ActiveSync or use a program like PIM Backup http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705 to copy off your info. Flash to 6.x again and then restore by whatever method you backed them up.

Ouch. You wouldn't be able to sync them from Outlook or Windows Live?

Only if he had sync'd them to one of those two before doing the upgrade.
