Bluetooth headset audio timeout

I have WM6 installed and have voice command working. However, after I press the button on my headset to activate the voice command, the audio connection between the headset and phone shuts off before I can finish speaking commands or a phone number.

How can I change that timeout.

I have a similar problem - mine times out after about 20 seconds unless a call has been established - then it stays up until the call is terminated. It also times out when I try to play music through BT. :(

If I can remember this might be the setting,

HLKM/Software/Microsoft/VoiceCommand/Speech

SRTimeout <---try playing with that, mine is set to 4000

UZ - thanks for the reply.. I have Cyberon Voice Commander. I wonder if it has a similar timeout setting? And, being kind of a noob on this type of device, could you direct me to instructions on how to find the appropriate setting and how to make this change?

skagwaypilot,

Just d/l a registery edit program there are many out there...PHM seems to be the one most of the members like.

http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/RegEdit/

After you d/l the cab and install just navigate to either,

HKLM/Software might check out /microsoft
HKCU/Software might check out /microsoft

and look for something with the title or a clue, such as "Cyberon" or "Voice Commander" to that affect...once you think you have found a reg dealing with "timeout or delay" just tap the area you want to edit and edit..it is pretty simple.

Just Be Very Carefull!!!....Backup the "REG" you can do it with PHM it has a "Backup" under "tools".

Thanks UZ... If I mess it up, I suppose I can reflash from Helmi's kitchen... can't I??? But, I'll be sure to back up the registry..

Sure can if you want to start all over..installing programs..etc.....but If you did a back up of the registry...just reinstall the backup and you will be fine.
