NetFront 3.5 Web Browser

Hi, I came across this on phonescoop.com. ACCESS built a web browser with pan/zoom functions sort of like iPhone's Safari or the upcoming Opera 9.5. The link to download it is here:

http://www.access-company.com/produc.../35_wm_tp.html

Looks like it has AJAX support but no plug-ins. Also there is a warning about the app being unstable if you install it to removeable storage.

I'm going to install this on my phone as soon as I'm out of work, if there are any problems, I'll post again....

thanks for the heads up, installing now!

edit: its definately a step in the right direction compared to past netfront versions.. although i still dont like how the address bar and top/bottom bars still take up precious space that can be used for web viewing. I know you can fullscreen but its cumbersome like any browser in fullscreen mode. The settings are very detailed and you can drop cache to any location you want. Text input into input boxes are direct unlike opera mini which is annoying. Still no flash. Its pretty fast and very smooth to scroll in a page, theres no "tearing" when sliding around. tabbed browsing is pretty clean and simple, i like that. the bookmark scroll feature is pretty tight as well.

I was just about to post the link to this! I just installed it and it works fine. I gotta check it out a little bit more, but it seems to work fine. It is worth a look at.

Thanks for this..
I wonder if they felt it neccessary to "skip" 3.4.. It was/is still technical preview yet they release this concept version...

I would like to have a full version of 3.5. If that is not possible i might think about going for 3.4 if its almost as good.

Been using the 3.5 for a few weeks now, and although I really like the browser, have found that the more I use it, the more weird problems I have on my phone (locks ups and otherwise "erratic" behavior).

ive been using this for awhile now and i really like it. i like the way u can view pics on myspace and facebook. its really just like a desktop. but sometimes it wont let you sign it to certain websites. for example. i can not check any of my bank accounts using it. but other than that its REALLY GOOD..

I think this is the best browser avaialble so far. However,it is such
a memory pig...does anyone know a way to optimize the settings to yield better results?

i've been using this since the beta came out. i did notice a little memory problem, but after i reflashed it seemed to go away. i have no idea what i changed, but on my device at least i think it was a compatability issue with something else i had. other than that, i still find some things that i use pie or opera for, but all in all i like netfront 3.5.

Re: NetFront 3.5 Web Browser

On netfront 3.5 , downloading and page layout is nice, but scrolling webpage with touchscreen is a nusiance with zooming and sidebar of screen appearing...
So far scrolling webpages is better for me on new Opera 9 + version in other thread.

Re: NetFront 3.5 Web Browser

I actually agree somewhat; it takes a little getting used to, with the sidebar. If you pretend it isn't there, you can still scroll normally.
Pressing the action key, also is a unique feature: Mouse Mode. This allows you to browse using a mouse-like interface, and select links by moving it over them.
What I have found is, that sidebar disappears, pretty quickly. It doesn't really take long for it to disappear.
I actually agree, that it takes up a great deal of RAM; but, have you really compared the usage, with that of PIE? There is not that much of a difference. Although, having multi-tabbed browsing is kinda pointless, because of how much each tab uses in RAM. I never really can browse more than two pages, at a time. Even with only two, after a while, I get warnings about memory problems.
