How could I change the region to china?

Hi everybody, I am come from China, and I using the Helmi_WM6_Apache_Kitchen_071117_1 to build my apache's rom, and I can't find China from the regional setting, how could I change it? I The last version rom I used has the China region setting, thanks!

The ROM is world-wide English and we don't have a China translation. We could tell the ROM that it's China, but it'd still fundamentally be a WWE ROM.

<thread hijack>
Speaking of China... I'll be heading to Beijing and Shanghai for a couple weeks soon. I hear CDMA service there is very spotty. Verizon says they have CDMA roaming in those two cities (for only $1.29 per minute... ugh), but I'm curious if anyone knows how good the coverage in those two cities is.

I'll probably try to compliment my roaming with a VOIP too. Anyone had luck using wifi and VOIP in China??

Hi, I don't mean change the language in to Chinese, just set the region as chinese, maybe you can see my screen capture, the ROM I am using is APAC_WM6_R0_Verizon, and it can set the region as Chinese, but when I use the PPCGEEKS kitchen to build the ROM, It can't, please help, thanks!

That's actually a subset of the localization (the language pack). Can't be done with this ROM.

winoz 12-14-2007 04:08 AM

So what can I do to add it? Thanks!

ymk 12-14-2007 07:17 AM

Extract wince.nls from ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/Asukal_asian_wincenls.rar
Open Apache_Helmi_WM6.rar with Winrar and drop the file in \sys\wincenls_wwe folder to replace original wince.nls

Don't extract.
Just drop the file in that folder.

Nice! Didn't even know we had that file. Do we have any other nls files? If so, we can make a nls pack for the kitchen.

BTW, you needn't open Apache_Helmi_WM6.rar - just put the file in c:\buildos\patches.

How to add registry settings in c:\buildos\patches? e.g. I want to overwrite the softkey assignment. Is it the same as buiding an OEM package, generate a UUID first? Thanks.

Make an OEM, and put it in the USER_OEM folder. You should use Tiermann's OEMizer if you don't know how to make an OEM.

The Patches dir can't be used for registry changes. Truthfully, it shouldn't be used at all - you should make OEMs. Patches is still around only because I haven't gotten around to deleteing it.
