Sprint MMS - what should be the server setting

I tried both "http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms" and "http://63.215.195.152" for the server address. Neither of them works. Could someone clarify?

I figured this was a known issue. Guess not.
Oh and make that +1 for the camera button.
Also Anyone having problems with the comm manager through the long press on the ie button? it doesn't seem to be mapped for me.

?GotJazz? 11-08-2007 11:16 PM

Three things, two of which are power related:
1) The 1.51.xxx version of the HTC "X-Button" Task Manager doesn't seem to work.

2) Tapping on the battery icon on the top of the Today screen does not bring up the Battery Level indication.

3) I just moved from VerizonGuy's WM6 Kitchen to Helmi's WM6 Kitchen. It seemed like Helmi's Kitchen was chewing up my battery faster than VerizonGuy's Kitchen, so I did a little test:

I built Helmi's Kitchen with the same programs that I used in VerizonGuy's Kitchen. The only exception is the above-mentioned HTC Task Manager, where I used version 2.0.xxxx for Helmi's Kitchen.

I rebooted my XV6700 with nothing else running. After 8 hours of inactivity on VerizonGuy's Kitchen, I still saw a battery level of 100%. With Helmi's Kitchen, I see my battery level at 70% after 8 hours of inactivity.
Hopefully, the power usage can be improved on Helmi's Kitchen. (Maybe VerizonGuy has some ideas?) It sure was nice being able to use my phone for an entire day without needing to recharge it in the middle of the day. I haven't been able to do that for a long time ...

This was supposed to be corrected, and may have been for one release. But does seem to be occurring with this ROM.

jspenc3 11-09-2007 01:25 AM

Just had another sd issue. I was trying to copy a dozen 5mb mp3s using windows explorer and after half of the first file the ppc gave an error and I couldn't see the device in vista anymore. I rebooted (only way to fix it that I found) and it locked up on the today screen. Rebooted again after a minute and it came up fine, but then activesync got stuck trying to do a usb sync again. So I undock/redocked it and got a usb device not recognized error...so I reset yet again using the reset app this time and it seems to work again.

Guess it's time to try the updated kitchen.

Button mapping problems were my fault. Should be fixed in the just released kitchen (071108_1)

Yep, happens to me too... is this WM6 behavior? Tap and HOLD and the power CP opens.

Hm. I went from AKU3.5 Kitchen 1.04 to WM6, battery performance is identical for me - I will be at 70% after 12 hours of normal use. Did VerizonGuy's include the power management reg entries, because the Helmi Kitchen does not - I added them to mine...

I can't find the post right now on ppcgeeks, but its these entries: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/1...er-management/

It's due to HTC Task Manager (X-button) IIRC.

Thanks for the bug report. This kitchen does indeed have those entries (I placed in OEM_Helmi_Addition) but for some reason they're getting overwritten by the defaults during the build process and I didn't even realize it. I'll figure it out.

Anybody HELP!

I have the WM6 Rom on Sprint 6700 Yellow logo (like it matters now) phone, it works fine for about 1-2 weeks then on a restart after a phone call locks it up, I get stuck at the windows mobile green screen??? this has happened 3 times in a row, I use exchange, I have installed voice commander, turned off HTC home plugin, and installed MS voice commander 1.6 each time, and done numerous resets with no problem, and very little/no lockups till the one call that says incomming, rings once, then locks I can still click sprint, so I reset, and the phone locks forever.

* this last time I installed a safemode program, and I am currently running in safe mode, so any diag steps? I have checked the run items, but dont know what services I need/dont.

Thanks!!!

by any chance are you running weatherpanel? That is known to cause lockups. In general, a freeze at the Windows Mobile screen is often caused by a today plugin, so you may want to re-enable one at a time until you find the culprit.

All the same you shoul use the latest version of the kitchen (in the sticky thread by helmi_c) to build a ROM and see if you get the same symptoms.

SCHC Drivers and Card

I have a 4GB card installed drivers from kitchen for card and I've noticed two things one the camera doesn't work if I save photos from camera to storage card. Camera works fine if photos are saved to phone memory and also using live search with gps doesn't work if I set option to cache to storage card but it work fine otherwise. I thought it was weird consider the card works fine as far as saving files streaming music and videos. I also forgot the camera gives an error message stating not enough memory when linked to storage card. Those are the only issues I experience with the combo of programs so far that I cooked in this rom and seeing that I can work around them no big deal.

No weather panel, and today plugins I have tried all off with no advantage.

But in safe mode I only see 4 and one is checked, how do I see them all?

I would try building a ROM without HTC Home (even though you said you disabled it it's possible that it could still affect the device) since that app is known to cause freezes at the Windows splash screen.

As you can see plenty of people are using this kitchen without that issue so I have to think this is related to either something you included in the ROM, something you installed afterwards, or some combination of the two. Unfortunately what you may need to do is start with the default (basically stock) configuration in buildos and just add one thing, build and see if you get freezes. If not, add something else, rinse and repeat.

And sorry if you already checked this (I can't remember), but is it possible that it's the safe mode app itself that is causing these freezes?

schettj 11-10-2007 02:12 PM

I've totally given up on HTC Home.... and now I've added HTC X button 2.0 to my list of evil HTC apps - Home always borked my wm5 builds, and seems to still be a memory hog and not completely stable... X Button uses something like a meg of ram and still doesn't work half as well as InClose (which works fine on WM6 it seems) does.

Thanks again Helmi_c and luv and coke and ..... everyone who did and continues to work on this. Building the kitchen is the easy part - support's a pain. Maybe you should outsource that to Bangalore?

I was thinking pretty much the same. The support for this kitchen has been nothing short of outstanding. In my mind, the support effort is even more impressive than the kitchen itself.

I wholeheartedly agree.. I've asked some really dumb questions in retrospect and the patience luv and everyone else has presented is nothing short of spectacular.

My hat is off to all you guys.

That's an interesting error message. Might I ask what priviledges you account has? (or doesn't have)

fortunately, you can do by hand what it was trying to do...copy the .lnk files in c:\buildos to you desktop. Use the shortcut you just pasted to your desktop to start the kitchen.

After a ROM is built, the nk.nbf file is in c:\buildos\upgrade\{your RUU tool selected in the kitchen}. If you haven't built a ROM successfully, there won't be one there.

archangel1982 11-14-2007 12:41 PM

k i will try to do it manualy ...i have full admin privs. im trying to reinstall my Vista box right now and see if it was because of some corruption. i will update later today.. thanks!!

archangel1982 11-14-2007 08:09 PM

did a reinstall and all is fine now with installation now its time to BUILD!!!!! also wanted to know if there is a new walkthought for how to add new OEM to the package or can i use the old HOW TO with this kitchen as well?

Wow im nuttin but problems install went fine now durring build when it gets to the point of "building Rom" i get error "This applicatoin has failed to start becase MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem"

Tryed reinstalling useing administrative privlidges to no avail with the same error...... i sware im about to go back to xp just to use this on my main box lol

k im trying to figure it out myself ......i tryed to manualy register the dll file but i get a error that the module was loaded but the entry point DLLRegisterServer was not found ... make sure that the dll is a valid dll or ocx file and then try again.

K i copyed the same dll from my xp box that it works on any registered it on my vista pc still getting the same error ....

not sure what else to try .... maybe re DL package and try... any advice would help

thanks

I made up a quick reg file with the entries that weren't making it into builds for power saving. If you're having issues with battery drain, please try importing this registry file and see how it goes. The next kitchen release will have it properly included.

Thanks to luv2chill for finding the error in the rgu.

Time Resets on Soft Reset

First thanks to all, this kitchen is awesome !!!!!

Sorry if this is in the wrong post but I figured the really smart people on this thread would know the answers or where to look. Also sorry if this rambles but I have been having this problem on and off for about six months and haven't seen it addressed elsewhere. When searching I saw some "time reset" threads for AKU 3.3 ( I think ) but the old links to these threads are no longer valid.

First some basic questions:

1. Should the Alltel PPC6700 retain the last time and date on a soft-reset without synching to the cellular network?

2. If yes, is there a registry entry that enables and disables this function?

3. How often does the time sync on the network and is the interval settable in the registry? ( I'm concerned that synching might beat the battery - IDK )

I have struggled with this through AKU 3.5 then Verizon Guys' WM6 kitchens seemed to fix it. The earlier version of Helmi WM6 were OK but now in the most recent release on 11-18 it is seems to be broken once again.

The symptons are whenever I do a soft-reset the time reverts to 2/1/2006 - 12:00 PM. The GMT of -5 is always there.

I am not sure what I did to kill this function but now no matter how I cook the ROM it does not work. With time sync from the network enabled it syncs in 5-10 minutes. Without time synch enabled it never sets the clock to the correct time.

One major change to my PC was that I updated from Activesync 4.5 Beta to the current 4.5 off of the MS site. It seemed to get broken around that time but I'm not sure.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 08:23 PM.
