This is the first ROM I'm cooking.

I focus on:

• Lite memory usage
• No third party programs
• No programs that only a minority of the users will use

I present my first ROM. Before this I didn't know how to cook a ROM but I learned! I decided to cook this ROM because I was not satisfied with the current offerings. I wanted a ROM with just the HTC software and no visual changes to Manila.

NOTE:

• This ROM is setup for AT&T Tilt2. To use it on a different Rhodium, set your own keyboard layout (Tools folder in the Start Menu) and AGPS settings.
• Check the second post for the Quick-Fix section to see if there are any fixes for the current ROM.

RAM USAGE
First Boot
RAM: 100MB
Storage: 235MB

After installing all my programs and resetting
RAM: 95MB

More Information:

• This ROM does NOT include HTC Messaging Client. I found it too slow.
• Full screen photos and music tab are disabled. They are too slow on the Touch Pro 2.
• A2DP and AVRCP Work fine!
• This ROM uses the LEO dialer and has no Video Calling.

Warnings:

• Package gb18030 is OFF which means Chinese software MAY not run correctly.

Known bugs:

• Comm Manager has no icon for 3G switch.
• When opening IE it says "Cannot open blank" but otherwise works. Don't know what is causing this and I don't use IE.
• Footprints doesn't seem to work. Fails to initialize camera.
• Twitter and eReader tabs untested.
• HTC Black theme does not work for some reason.

To Do:

• Fix Widgets
• Autoinstall Compliance
• Make it default to sync time from network. Haven't found the reg key for this yet.
• Add images for 3G switch to Comm Manager.
• Make Ezinput show the corrected text while typing. Currently shows what you type but the pop up thing shows the corrected text but corrects it when you press space or enter.
• Add Action Screen
• Fix IE "Cannot open blank" bug.
• Disable phonecanvas curtain or find a phonecanvas without it.

It is a nice rom. I did notice one thing though. You mention the 3G icon doesn't show up. I took a look and it doesn't appear to work at all.

EDIT: It might be worth your while to also post this over on the xda developers forum for the HTC Touch Pro 2. I had to hunt for yours and it has loads of promise. I'll be using a different one in the meantime but I look forward to what you end up doing with yours.
