Got my Nexus One Today!

Coming from a TP2, all I can say is WOWWWWWW!!

This thing not only kills the TP2, but it mutilates it and rapes its mother too. You literally can't even compare, its like night and day.

I had an iPhone 3G and this thing beats it too. The way Android is expanding, iPhone OS will be a distant 2nd soon and Palm's WebOS will probably be out of business.

Are you getting 3g inside buildings? Everytime I'm inside my office it drops down to Edge and I have to use Wifi to get decent decent speed. I had the same problem last year on the iphone 3g with ATT.

I'm confused, aren't you on sprint?

No. I get good 3g when its around... signal is the same as my tp2.... good.... Although I moved and now all my phones have had signal.... even my tp2.. so I got mifi to help with that.. so no, not any worst than my other phones

I posted this in another thread, but Google has released an update that fixes 3G issues and also unlocks some cool features like multi-touch in browser/maps:

It will be released OTA over the next couple weeks; however you can manually update: Instructions for Manually updating (does NOT require Root.)
Update Details: http://googlenexusoneboard.blogspot....nexus-one.html

Re: Got my Nexus One Today!

Did anyone have issues with the screen alignment being way off at times? I had to restart my phone to get it working right. Also, the update didn't do much for me, it seemed to make the phone worse, I was constantly having dropped calls.

Anyways, I switched to iPhone 3GS and ATT, all I can say is that ATT is WAY better than the T-Mobile, I get full 3G bars at work and home while T-MO only had 3G when I was outside. Also, the DL speed from ATT is a little over 2.2 MB's while T-Mobile is getting 563 K. If I were you guys, I'd wait for the Nexus to hit ATT instead of sticking to T-Mo.

This sounds like issues with your area. The update fixed my issues, but as for service I have 3bars of 3g every where in the bay area. But I only get 1.5mbs. But no problems because hspa + is about to be turned on along the coast in Cali. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Nexus is a better phone then iPhone IMO

Yeah, the Nexus is very good for a first Gen phone, I like the screen more than the iphone because its higher resolution. However, the iphone isn't that bad, the apps are more plentiful and better I think. Anyways, I'll wait another 6-9 months before I upgrade my phone, I am happy with the iphone. My next phone will probably either be an iPhone 4G or a Nexus TWO on ATT or maybe even a WM7 phone if its real good. I love having choices.

actually, it sounds like the connection problems might be hardware problems with the phone.

I think that's what I'll love about it. iPhone is too locked down for me, same with Nokia and Blackberry. Android seems like its good out of the box, but still lets you customize plenty of things.

I can't wait for the FedEx guy to pull up tomorrow :)

I'm still a Windows Mobile fan and will definitely want to try 7 when it comes out, but I didn't see a need to upgrade from my Touch Pro to a TP2 if it can't run 7. The only WM phone I would consider is the HD2, which doesn't have 3G on At&t.

Not a fan of at&t, there plans suck... and I get fantastic speeds in my area, portland or.... 2.1mbps... plus tmobile gonna turn It up even more.

Plus at home I'm usually on wifi....... sounds like where you live att is it... here everybody is good...... verizon, att, sprint and tmobile... all good....

The antenna could have been plaaced better, but where there's a strong 3g signal no covering will effect reception...

Yeah here in Cali every service is good, even metro pcs customers don't complain about service anymore. I thought about getting the n1 on my Sprint account but I'm fond of talking and surfing plus since $ isn't really an issue the fact that T-Mobile ALWAYS has hotter phones then sprint I'm sticking wit T-Mobile (I always want the newest phones, nexus one has been with tmobile since december and sprint 4months later hasn't even given us a release date, tp2 was out a little over a month before Sprint and Verizon as well). Also the modem in the n1 supports up to 7.2mbps so when hspa+ is turned on this summer I will be getting way faster speeds. I wished they would've used an actual hspa+ modem because people in Philly are getting 9mbps with the web connect rocket USB and the n900 smartphone.

N1 is better imo because it has 512 ram and incredible only has 256, also the N1 has an amoled display which gives it a boost. Incredible has htc sense which i'm not a fan of, i like the google sense better. Other then that everything else is the same. same screen size and both sport the 1ghz snapdragon.

david i was wrong, i also posted in your other thread but the incredible will have 512 ram not 256. the early specs said 256. the processor is underclocked to 768mhz but it has fm radio.

So do you still think the n1 is better?

Re: Got my Nexus One Today!

I say n1 is better.... processor speed alone would make me choose n1
