Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
I hope tomorrow is better for them but as far as right now.. I'm very disappointed. What are your thoughts?
Here's a link. Ballmer on Windows Phone 7: 5,500 apps, updates coming, Verizon and Sprint in first half of 2011 | BGR | Boy Genius Report |
Re: Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
They are missing out on a lot of potential customers (Sprint/Verizon) that may be looking for a new phone experience. The improvements are definately good, still I think it is something that should be done, not bragged about. If people were upset about copy/paste or game speed loading time they would not stick around at all. So Thats technically an update but to anyone after Feb 17(WMC) has a WP7 they wouldn't know about it. Finish the rollout in U.S. and other countries where language support would be nice, and Marketplace. A person buys a phone for the way that syncs into their lives, the usefullness, all under a carrier that provides consistant coverage where they LIVE THEIR LIVES. I can buy a Windows Phone 7 now, but where I live my best coverage is with Sprint, or Verizon. "9 out 10" AT&T customers said they would recommend it is foolishness. Better would be to say "in U.S. alone, on all 4 Major carriers customers said they would recommend this phone and loved the experience."

Re: Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
That is kind of a shocker but, let's wait till Sprint and Verizon show off at CES. If there is no WP7 on their tables...guess what ?
Edit: We'll should know what Verizon has on their table soon (Verizon's keynote speach is at 8:30 this morning...Man !!! I wish I could be at CES! !!!!) |
Nothing really. We know Verizon has the trophy. Sprint has the 7 pro. I am a bit disappointed but every CES disappoints me from Microsoft. MWC is always where Microsoft shines

They shined at MWC last year because they were going to give us our first solid in depth look at wp7 and devices. They also told us what they would be showing as well. This year at CES it seems like (as far as cdma phones/wp7 updates) everything has become even more confusing. Like i said in my other post, i was looking forward to a cdma wp7 device this month. I'm kind of disappointed about the lack of any tangible wp7 information. |

Re: Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
"June" The article states. This would not be a huge issue for me if there was WM update to allow my TP2 to run smooth until WP7 debued on Sprint/Verizon. At least with a date that late we could see other manufactures CDMA handsets for more options.

I sure hope they will be carrying second generation phones and not the trophy or hd7. If they dont at least match the powerful phones android has lined up for the 1st & 2nd quarters then wp7 wont be so appealing. Microsoft is already behind in apps/ hardware/carrier support/os features.. They need to at least pick up on the hardware front. Please don't suffer the same problems that palm and webos had. |
Re: Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
i was gonna diss sprint and vzw but i aint i think imma go android here soon mostly because i think vzw and sprint let microsoft shoot its mouth off bout its early 2011 release only to find out late june is when we can expect wp7 devices not really tryin to diss microsoft either but they kinda dissapointed alot of cdma users like myself with the lateness anyways im a believer if u say one thinh stick with it not switch up 2 months later with bs i know every phone has bug issues but then these are just my retarded thoughts

Re: Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
not tryin to start a fight bud but ya kinda can blame steve ballmer or however his last name is he was the one who mentioned it wouldnt come to sprint till early 2011 i havent heard 1 time from sprint sayi hey everybody we're getting wp7 devices kinda odd now with ces upon us still sprint hasnt mentioned it but microsoft has come on now tell me if thats sprints doing i gladly admit sprint isnt excatly forth coming or even honest about anything just sayin they havent mentioned spit about an are being very tight lipped on it . i was also saying that in the time frame recently given how can they expect people to wanna wait so long if they let microsoft run the show on their behalf not sayin android is the best im sure they have their faults but im sayin im not gonna wait around for sprint and microsoft to stop pulling on each others weenies deciding when they're gonna release a wp7 product .. but then again these are just my thoughts:-b

Being with sprint you should be used to being disappointed.

Ballmer is claiming what the carriers want people to know. Everyone will be have devices by June 30th. Then we have Verizon sending out to all MS employees about The HTC Trophy early January but it just passed FCC approval 3-4 days ago. June 30th is the end of the 1st 1/2 of 2011, this is the goal to have all devices at all carriers by then. Not meaning that most carriers won't have 1 or 2 them long before. In a nutshell, no one is telling anyone crap, If you were watching CES to get a better idea on a CDMA release, like I was, you just got more lost. If nothing shows by the end of the month, wait till WMC next month, everything should be told by then. |
Re: Disappointed by Microsoft's CES Keynote?
thats not where i was heading wuth this but rather thinking what was the whole point of microsoft coming out an saying what they did in the beginning and then saying something different now .. not trying to downgrade any of the wireless companies but in truth all of em lie plain in simple .now like i stated as my own opinion
