It says they are waiting on MS for some "Windows 7 Devices." Not "Windows Phone 7 Devices." That may mean tablets with Windows 7. Not actual Windows Phones.

They're waiting for WP7 devices... Follow my shortcut above for more details.

What does "early 2011" mean? Jan, Feb or March. I saw on the link above where the first Verizon phone will be a HtC model with 3.8" screen and 16 gBytes memory. I was hoping for a Samsung Focus style. Oh well, I guess I will have my first HTC phone.

It makes alot of sense... They don't want to loose status with Microsoft but then again they are making a killing selling Android phones... So... This gives them the best of both worlds. lol.

The orignal specs for the phone claim it to have a FM radio (from Engadget specs), I'm wondering if it's still there or did Verizon cut it out....again. This will be the final straw with Verizon and I for sure. This is one of the phones where it's a 1 year contract or no contract, just depending on cost and what else is planned (on release time) for other models on VZW... It's not the most inpressive phone by any means but, still a nice phone. |

Re: Verizon is Excited, Waiting On Windows Phone 7
thought I had read that a wp7 device might release before xmas for verizon.
Considering the minimum specs, I don't think there is a bad wp7 device, except for maybe the dell venue pro which can't seem to get anything right. |

Then it had wifi issues and devs and early adopters were asked to bring them back to switch with a new device. With the new devices, only about 1 in 10 will read a sim card.... So, poor QC by dell I guess. |

Re: Verizon is Excited, Waiting On Windows Phone 7
Just got off the phone with Verizon making acct changes, and asked about the release date for WP7. CSR said they "should" be coming out right about the time my 2nd line is eligible, which is Dec 23rd. Plus Microsoft employees can already pre-order WP7 thru Verizon, so it's def a possibility that we'll see them pre-Christmas.

It's going to hard for a company to push a big marketing promotion and give only 5-10 days for the sale (X-mas is 10 days away). Just like everything else, you can never trust a CSR at Verizon, when it comes to rumored devices or things comming, you can talk to 5 different reps and get 5 different stories. About the only people who MIGHT know something (and only a week or 2 before release) is the techs because of training to support but, with them, it's the same story. |
Re: Verizon is Excited, Waiting On Windows Phone 7
Sprint better hurry up, I have 2 accounts to upgrade and I am waiting for them to carry a nice WP7 device.

Re: Verizon is Excited, Waiting On Windows Phone 7
Not to crash the party.... but I used WM7 at the AT&T store. All I can say is YUCK!
I went to VZ and picked up a Motorola Droid 2 Global (1.2Ghz processor and dedicated video processor) and I haven't looked back. This phone makes my Touch Pro look like the stone ages. |

Re: Verizon is Excited, Waiting On Windows Phone 7
I'm rocking a WP7 LG Optimus 7 - blows everything I have played with away. The GUI is simple, smooth and the integrated web experiences around Xbox, Zune, and the whole LiveTile concept is pretty interesting. Getting pictures is just stupid easy - everything comes together - cloud and on the phone - it's a beautiful thing.
Verizon applications are showing up in the Marketplace so there is absolutely no doubt - it's coming now... maybe first of the year at the latest... |

You do have a valid point. I must admit. It will be interesting to see what actually proceeds from Verizon on the WM7 front. |
