dialer sucks. not able to type name of contact when dialing
 

You guys know how in wm u could type the persons name with the numbers to spell their name? Like if u wanted to call a contact named "max" u would key in 629. You can't do that in wp7 and its really slowing me down. Why would they leave out such a good feature? Or hopefully I just don't know how to turn it on, cause I really like this phone.
Btw, I typed all of this with my new hd7 and it was quick and easy. Browser and keyboard rock!

It would bother me if I had a WP7 device, and if it isn't fixed by the Sprint launch, then it will bother me then.

I hope so. Smart Dial has been a part of Windows Mobile for as long as I can remember! It doesn't make any sense that MS would take it out with their latest Mobile OS. Yes, it's supposed to be completely different, but don't take out the one redeeming quality of your dialer!

Yeah I remember us writing an article stating this was a not so good feature. Stinks and I agree, hopefully that will change! :/

agreed this 'feature' should be standard. I do wonder thought if it allows you to type the last 4 digits of a saved number for a short dial, much like all the phones prior to my ppc's did. it's still a habit of mine and bugs me it doesn't work.

That's probably my guess too...you can do the same with Android.

Its still nice to have it built-in to the dialer, but I honestly hardly ever used it, so I probably won't miss it much either.

Still faster the old way. Now I go to phone-search-then type the contact. Not bad, and quite quick. Buyjot as fast as the old way. I just don't know why they would change something that worked so well and efficient.
