Re: WP7 coming to Sprint???

like others said - it surely will come to all major(and minor eventually) carriers, just like Android(coming to ATT soon already) and iPhoneOS(eventually) and WebOS(already on 2/4). Any major/popular OS will be on all major carriers - its just some will take longer than others

Well from the sounds of things, it won't be until sometime early next year that WP7 will support CDMA network. :-(

the reason I think is becasue they wanna help push gsm. Probobly some agreement they have with AT&T in the US.. but sprint has at least one prototype out thier. Its a sexy beast. I plan on getting one asap on my consumer plan since I cant get it on my employee plan anytime after release I Bet.

It would nice if they do that but, after Microsoft's quote and the fact that we have not even seen leaks or companies talking about upcomiming phones in CDMA, I would not count on it.

Just like now, GSM phones are going to be released in around a month and there is 7 models at least that is publicly shown or talked about. Where is the talk of CDMA phones....no where...

Not trying to question you or your source but, with out proof, there is nothing solid to count on.

If Sprint releases them soon, maybe Verizon will follow..

Verizon has already said in so many words screw wp7 they are riding android next year so I wouldnt count on that one. As far as one coming to Sprint i'm yet to hear a thing and I WORK for Sprint.

If I see other CDMA based carriers get WP7 phones and VZW does not within a month of others having them...good bye verizon this will be the final straw.

As most of us who keep an eye on this has seen at least part of the GSM release list, because leaked FCC docs or someone found info of it along the way. Everything seems to get leaked some way or another, FCC, OEM, employee, lists on computers, something. There has been -0- for a CDMA based WP7 for Sprint or Verizon. Nothing at all, so makes me question any near by time frame.

I hope I am wrong but if your expecting on CDMA carrier to get WP7 by the end of the year, I would not count on it.

As for VWZ and the KIN, that is yet to be seen when there is even a CDMA based phone to talk about. As VZW does not have any planned for release but, nothing from sprint is ether(no true proof, no offence to the other poster). It's all about one thing, money, and if WP7 is the next big thing (Microsoft 95% time tends to make good products), they could miss the boat.

Right now, it's Microsoft's fault if NO CDMA carrers have one and that means they only planned for a GSM based phones on release but, didn't tell anyone...They are the ones who publicly said it, Verizon just followed up on it.

At this point, correct me if I am wrong, THERE IS NO CDMA BASED WP7 phones. Not even a clear rumor on one.... So no CDMA carrer will have one.

Dude, we get it. You show us "proof," you get fired. You don't need to repeat it every post. But you should understand that without proof, you're probably not going to change many people's opinions on the matter.

Are you kidding me? What the hell is wrong with you? I didn't claim you were lying, and I didn't say anything about my own proof or knowledge of WP7.

I only stated that you'd made your point: if you furnished proof, you'd get fired. You don't need to restate it with every post. BUT, as long as no proof is shown that suggests that Sprint will release WP7 despite MS's very public statement to the contrary, you're not going to sway opinions. That's just a fact.

I could claim that I've seen someone shoot fireballs out of their ass, defying all known laws of physics, but that I couldn't provide proof because it would mean losing my job. How many people do you think would believe me? It's that simple. You may be telling the truth, you may be lying. We have no way of knowing, and you telling us "you like your job" isn't going to make us more prone to believing you.

Let us all get over ourselves, this thread is rolling off the tracks and threatening to crash into the city below. Let's all just chill out. I know sometimes our e-feelings get hurt and we want to punch, but I think we can just sit back, relax, abide by the rules, and have a good time here.

edit: Seems the above might be at a higher phonics level than some can handle, so let's try the simpler version:

No more flaming, bickering, or trash talking.

Thank you, and have a great day :)

Re: WP7 coming to Sprint???

The only reason I didn't flame, bicker or trash talk is because I like my job too much.
Please don't ask me to prove that. How could I anyway.

So, This ->
No CDMA Windows Phone 7 devices until 2011, excluding Sprint and Verizon
And this -> A week in Windows Phone 7, 9-19-10 - Windows Phone Hacker (see the bottom of article)

And this -> Verizon: No Windows Phone 7 devices at launch, will support later on

And pretty much this -> windows phone 7 on cdma - Google Search

Tells me there will not be a WP7 phone on CDMA till 2011. But I'm not calling it proof. Just hearsay.

And being a Sprint customer myself... I hope ajac is right and we get a sexy sleek phone soon. But the data shows a very likely inprobability. Pictures or not.

Yep, I am only interested here if there is any leaks of some possable CDMA based phones, even tho they are not targeted at a carrier..Sprint or VZW or (name your CDMA carrier here).

This is what everyone here should be looking for. To this date, I have seen about 6 to 10 phones claimed for 7 and GSM only. Also to this date, I have seen NO CDMA "7" phones, not even a hint of a model.

Nothing is showing that there is a CDMA phone even in the planning stage, at least that I can find.

To anyone who says they have seen or used one, great. With out proof, I can say I have one here, who can prove me wrong ? Take no offence, I do hope your right because we might see one sooner but, with out actual proof, it does not exist in people's minds.

Winmo is not dead yet... Sprint/Motorola/MS trying to cater to the business crowd. Not a bad move. Considering there will not be a CDMA WP7 phone till mid 2011.

I'd rather keep my TP2 though.

It was on the internet, so it MUST be true :)

All kidding aside, that is one phone that was scheduled for AT&T/GSM release. Even if so, a pop out keyboard, ok but, pop out speakers ? As long as it's got some serious bass and very clear audio, maybe but, I still would prefer a keyboard.

Re: WP7 coming to Sprint???

not really liking the TP2 refresh with this 7 pro. Not impressive at all. Im thinking of getting the Dell venue Pro or the Asus device whenever it drops.

But so far I havent seen much that sparks my interest. I need something because this TP2 is ****in junk and im so ready to get rid of it. TP was much better. So im weary of upgrading my WP7 device to an HTC

AZTECHKA 10-12-2010 06:44 PM

Re: WP7 coming to Sprint???

Agree to disagree...
The TP is not better than the TP2.
There are already threads about this. No need to shift this thread in that direction.

I love my TP2. I never had the TP so I can't compare. I really hope they decide to up the screen size to 4" at least and add 4G. Why wouldn't they add 4G? Come on Sprint, MS and/or HTC whoever is to blame.

CripledCyclone 10-13-2010 01:23 PM

Re: WP7 coming to Sprint???

MS makes WinMo, HTC makes the phones and controls the antenna in them, and sprint provides the 4g coverage to let you use the 4G, blame them all.

I actually am a new hire for Sprint and have talked to many people within the company as a consumer also and always get the same answer... No CDMA WP7 phones until early March.

Question, If there is a working prototype of a Sprint branded TP3/WP 7 Pro, why would the version that Microsoft had at the NYC launch event be a non working model like a Best Buy display? I mean seriously, there is only 2 more months in the year. If there was going to be a Sprint version before December 31st, Microsoft would've had one to show off far before Sprint would. All the carrier does is put their branded software on the phone's firmware.

I am not flaming here, but I have enough balls to call Shenanigans on those claims.

I also believe that the same way a person reaches VIP status by the amount of thanks they get on this website, it should be a downgrade system for when a person lies or pulls rumors out of their ass to mislead others. "You Suck" button maybe? lol Still, not trying to flame.

HTC doesn't have a working version to show off yet either apparently. Engadget had a hands on with the WP 7 Pro and it was only hardware(also unbranded btw). If HTC doesn't have the unbranded version in working form to show, how would Sprint have one to show an employee?

It would be nice to see the windows mobile 7 phone on sprint soon, but in a way this will help by other companies getting it out and going through their bugs for sprint to come out with one that will do really well. That is one way to look at it.
