Need some advice...
 

I have a Touch Pro but without insurance... and it's a touch pro. I have a crack in the chrome at the bottom and sprint wants 119.00 to fix it. I'm on 1250 sero for 49.99 a month as well.

I don't know whether I should ditch it now and get insurance on another phone or just stick with it until it kicks the bucket.

I just wanted advice on the more sensible approach here.

Can purchase one on eBay and activate it without changing plans or contract date.

Just be sure to get the esn then call/chat with your carrier and ask them to check it.

Honestly I was just gonna put a hard case on it.

Well that's certainly the cheapest option... it occurs to me that the option of "ignore it" never came to me!

Another option might be to buy the casing online then take it to a local cell shop and give the guy a 20 to change it.

Knowing the TP's issues, it's probably safe to say the keyboard and screen will go out and I'll be without insurance so I'll be screwed... that was the point of this thread, the best sensible approach.

But so far no real TP issues besides the crack.

But they're still alot of TP users, even with the phone's issues we are still hanging with this phone so I guess wasting money is pretty dumb right now, just wait till it kicks the bucket.

I'll probably keep it until the wheels fall off it.

Hey sah0724, my name is BJ DeHut and I am a representative for Sprint. Sorry to hear about the crack in your phone! I think you are correct in just going with a hard case as a solution. It doesn’t sound like the crack will affect your use, as it sounds cosmetic, but a case will be a good way to ensure it doesn’t continue to grow and cause serious damage.
