Exchange 2007 Hosting for your WM6 6800 - Decent Deal

Up until yesterday, I was hosting my own Exchange 2007 server when I had a hardware failure. I had the choice of either fixing my server or get Exchange hosting from a company. I had to factor in the cost for parts, future time and cost for maintenance and electricity.

I ran across Sherweb.com and went with them because the price and features are pretty decent. I wanted to give you all the heads up in case you are looking for a provider with more features than mail2web.com at a decent price. If you don't need all these features, then go with Mail2web.com as they are free.

$8.95/month gives you:
Exchange 2007
3 GB of Storage per Mailbox
FREE SETUP
Month to Month contract
Free Mobile synchronization
Free Advanced Anti-spam/Anti-virus (Barracuda)
Free Copy of Outlook 2007 or Entourage for Mac
Free SharePoint (100mb)
Unlimited Email Aliases
Use your own domain name
50mb Attachments
No forced Exchange security policy like cough...1and1..cough :p
see the features link for a more detailed list of the features.

i tried this service but didn't like as they required a domain name, and you have to pay 3monthes in advance.

I switched to these guys about a month ago and am very happy with them so far. the 3GB mailboxes are nice, the largest I've seen in this price range. the initial setup tools / tutorials aren't quite as slick as 1and1 but that is only noticed initially.

1and1 service worked well for me but I was tired of waiting for exchange 2007. I gotta admit, html email looks nice, but what really becomes useful is the ability to search your mailboxes with 2007. very handy!!

It's funny you mention that provider as I looked into it. I almost signed up, but decided to go with an actual company offering. DeniaL's done a great job, but I wanted a little more security with my data. Thanks for pointing it out as it is a good deal for some.

i'm with that one, too and it he gives you 4gigs of space, moved all my email from my other servers on to this, so not is so easy to just search the server for an email, rather than trying to figure out what email address i used for something :)

I have been very happy with 4smartphone for 2 years now

How does that work? Does the outlook client still use Exchange for real time e-mail? How is the latency on viewing emails since I'm assuming it has to go across the internet to their mail server. Have you found it to be pretty good?

Hi guys, just a quick comment to say that I've listen to Stroths and decided to choose SherWeb as my Hosted Exchange provider. So far so good! I love their aggressive offering and I had a very good experience with both their Hosted Exchange and Hosted BlackBerry support. Moreover the price is great!

Just thought you should know
Thanks

With the pending release of the Palm Pre, I was introduced to the idea of Cloud Computing. I would like to move in that direction. My first step is to move my Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes and EMail to the cloud.

I was looking at Google, Hosted Exchange Server, and MS Skybox. I've decided to go the Hosted Exchange Server route, but I have one question.

Can I setup SherWeb to sync everything to all my computers but ONLY sync my Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes to my cell phone? I do not read or store emails on my phone.
