I just got an email saying that their new free package will not include active sync and blackberry support

Are there and free alternatives that don't suck?

I don't even post here with any frequency and I was just about to start a topic about this. In terms of push e-mail clients, I'm at a loss. Mail2web was pretty much the only option I liked.

So did it say whether those who already had push service would have that service cut off? If so, when?

Hmmm, I haven't got the email yet. That sucks. Exchange 2007 would be nice because I'd get the HTML email, but I don't know whether it's worth $5.00/month for the little bit of email I get.

i just got this email also. looks like no more free activsync, and $5 bucks a month is way to steep for email.
Does anyone know of an alternative? Also what about microsoft adding there own free push service thru windows live, or using gmail for sync?


anyone have any ideas.

hm...i've beeen getting an "error synchronization" msg every 2 days or so and my push email on my TOUCH will stop working. I'll have to do a hard reset to get it working again but I'll receive that error again in about 2 days...is this the reason why???

I got the email, so I went ahead and signed up for the 60 day trial of the pro service so I can get exchange support on my desktop as well. And it also included a copy of outlook 2007 so I'm happy for now. I have 60 days to figure out what I am gonna do so I'm happy.

I have tried Seven in the pst, but the messages take too long to come through, and I noticed a significant drain on my battery when it was installed.

It kills me to have to pay for it, however, looking around at the alternatives $5/month is not too bad. I am open to ideas from others, if you have any, either free or cheaper.

As for the free trial, I am not being pushed into a change until May, so I am going to hold off until the end of April to start my 60 days.
