Re: CES goodies
This tag/barcode reader might actually take off. Big company support and works for android, iphone, winmob, blackberry and symbian....
I'm shocked. |
Re: CES goodies
It froze my phone after trying to take a photo of a barcode...Soft resetting now...

Re: CES goodies
I've used it a few times now playing with it. Other than their demo barcode, I can't find any others. lol.
I didn't have to press any buttons or anything, just pointed at the barcode and it launched IE. |

Re: CES goodies
The "barcode" scanner from what I gathered is only for specialized barcodes (Microsoft Tag is the only barcode supported at this time).
The application automatically grabs the barcode image (you don't have to "take" a picture), so just point your camera at the following image: http://xs135.xs.to/xs135/09024/ppc_barcode379.png |
Re: CES goodies
Microsoft Tags currently can be used to share contact information, display text on the phone reading the tag, or send someone to a URL on their phone. It's very cool stuff. There will be more options available soon. Also, there will be different looks. There will be circles/dots, squares, different color schemes, etc.
Here's my Tag... http://www.djebam.com/images/TranceCast_Tag.jpg |
