NEW TO PPCGEEKS! (And lost!)
 

Hello All!

I was referred to this site by my frat brother.
I have a Cingular8525 and a Sprint/HTC Touch (the first one, not the pro or diamond).
I'm looking thru the site to see what I can download to make these phones better and more "cool" but I dont exactly understand the jargon. And i dont want to download anything that will mess my phones up.
Can someone briefly point me in the right direction or explain to me what to do or look for (or lookout for).
I have WM 6.1 on the touch already......

the best thing I can tell you is read read read. download ppcpimbackup or somehow else backup your contacts and make sure all the files you want to keep are on your sd card. once you have done that as long as you stick to just installing programs you can hard reset and clear out and programs that run amok. once you get really comfortable with installing programs flashing new roms is really quite easy. but make sure you visit the vogue section often and read read read. its usually scary the first time but once you visualise all your doing you will have that 'DUH' moment.

You should be able to find a lot of information in both of those forums.. The first thing you will want to do is unlock your phone. Here is a great FAQ about the HTC Vogue.. Most of your questions should be answered in here...
