A blackberry texting problem

I have a friend of mine that has a blackberry 7100i and when I send him text msg's, he gets them but it doesn't show who it is when he has me saved in his phone. Does anyone have any clues or ideas and help me and my friend out on this? By the way, the phone is from Nextel.
