out of the four replacements for my xv6800, only 1 was a refurb. the other three were nib. your more likely to get a new one if you complain directly to the store.

I actually secured a MIB mogul when the one I was using developed the 'single keypress results in multiple characters' problem. I took it directly to my local non-kiosk store. They gave me the OLD battery and SD, and a brandy new Mogul, in box and wrap to boot. No insurance deductible. It was even flashed to WM 6.1 (whoa!)
A month later. the contract on my service went up and I cancelled it. Then I found out Sprint had put the Diamond up on the websales area, and decided to re-establish service with them. God, what a spanking the Diamond gives the mogul. Still, the mogul is damned handy for GPS and Google maps, I can tether it to the Diamond via wifi and have myself an HTC party.
But... beware of ordering a Diamond if you're in the military, and have your bill going to an APO. UPS can't deliver to an APO, but the websales order system will certainly ship one (or try) to you. I spent about 10 hours on the phone with sprint trying to 'fix' the address. Nobody could help me, it was a nightmare. Ended up letting the order ship and go 'out for delivery', and called UPS and told them to have the driver return it to the packing center so I could pick the bastard up. Sprint ended up giving me the cost of the phone back for my trouble, and a $100 credit to boot. I had to yell at a tier three supervisor for half an hour though, so I don't suggest you try to get your diamond free. :mrgreen:

Mine is messed up as well but im gonna wait to use it for swap for the touch pro.

Seriously? I wonder if I can get them to swap mine out... its got the white spot of doom and its manually reset itself a few times after I get off of calls.

Honestly though, I bet they're holding back all the refurb stock for all the people that are going to blast them with false insurance claims when they launch the Touch Pro next month...

what is this white spot supposed to do? I think I have it but it is really faint.

Its damage from the LED backlight. The speculation is that its caused by vibration of the phone... but basically, one of the LEDs is burning too brightly and its shining through the LCD panel. Every Mogul I've had has gotten this thing...

I took mine in on the 14th of this month and almost got a refurb. Luckily the one they sent was bad... Got a brand new
