Day light savings time

What has become to be known as a Pocket PC was called a converged device basically a Pocket PC (PPC) phone. Before Sprint, Verizon, AT&T.... started making PPC there were handheld PPC that didn't have phones, daylight savings time changes were a night mare. All my appointments would be messed up the time wouldn't update properly etc. A few years ago Microsoft made a patch that had to be added to all PPC's to accommodate daylight savings time, I haven't needed to add this software to any of my converged devices because the Sprint connection seams to manage the time very well. What I am wondering is are you having any issues with the time change? If you are post what carrier do you have and what state do you live in.

No problems; we worked late at the airport again last night (cancelled all flights to Ohio and NE and especially Canada due to weather, THOUSANDS of passengers stranded, out of hotels by midnight, and blessed be, only one medical emergency and everyone was civil except one young college girl - my poor passengers) and when I got home, exactly at 2am, the Mogul updated and sent me a message.

Oh, BTW, Sprint in Virginia

No big problems here. Yesterday though, I was a bit confused: The calendar on my Today screen kept displaying ALL my appointments an hour later than they should be. Other than that I had to manually update my clock using time synchronization because I have it off to prevent Activesync from constantly trying to connect.

My DST changed as it should; however, my alarm for today acted weird. I have it set for 8am on Sunday and it just went off at 9am. that scares me since this is the alarm I use to wake up every morning at 4:30am. If I miss it by an hour, i'm toast. I just reset my phone just in case and will test it out.

My Titan updated perfectly, as did my calendar/alarms. :D
I had install M$ patch for this some time ago & it worked then too. I knew my Phone was ok but I'm glad to see my PC has performed the update as well, it didn't do it last year.

I just did a soft reset and created a new alarm for 9:30am and it worked just fine. To make sure it goes off tomorrow morning, I changed the alarm to another time, clicked OK, then went back and set it to the correct time again. I'm hoping this works properly tomorrow.

My Touch did not update correctly. Weird enough it Moved the Mexico City to an hour earlier and notified me it was updating to the DST. After a soft reset it did change. How stupid. In case you can't/haven't been able to figure it out, Sprint Kansas

My phone is fine, it is staying up too late playing Guild Wars and losing an hour of sleep before having to dig out from the blizzard. LOL

Don't get me started with this time change stuff, and cellphones. :( I live in AZ on a time zone boarder with NV and the winters are a pain if your device or phone won't allow you to change the time manually like my Katana II. As the networks here run mostly on NV time. At least now my Katana II is showing the right time. :)

Sprint in GA here.

Update didn't work for me. Had to manually change the date. And for the next month ALL of my appointments are showing up on my calendar an hour earlier than they should. :(

I live by my calendar on here... Gotta get this fixed.

If palringo worked with Helmi WM6 I would just flash my rom and be done with it.

Sprint Touch in Florida...

My appointments seem fine, the only odd thing that happened was that when I woke up the time on the HTC Today still showed 3:00 AM, odd thing is that when I clicked on Clock and Alarms the time and zone was fine. After clicking OK, time on the plugin was still stuck a 3 AM.

Soft reset fixed the issue.

Try a soft reset and see if this fixes the issue. Aren't we all glad they gave us a button instead of having to pull the battery.

Ummm... Thanks, I Think. LOL

It was the very first thing I tried. (I actually know a thing or two about this phone).... But a soft reset didn't fix it.

I even did a hard reset and totally took all my appointments out of mail2web and reentered them. For the next month NO MATTER what my appointments show an hour earlier than they should. Even though when you go to edit them they are right. The magically they are right on 4-8-08.

I would shoot a email to mail2web. Sounds like they have not changed everything they need to with the new day light savings dates. :(

I'm in Brooklyn, NY and my Touch didn't change at first. I noticed when I woke up so I tried a soft reset and it worked. WEIRD!

Nah... No attack on my intelligence LOL ... Just thought the wording of your response was kinda funny. LOL

A soft reset doesn't fix anything, but anyone who has had these kinda phones know to try it first and know where the reset button is located. But yeah. You are right. Atleast we don't have to yank the battery.

wldthng842 03-10-2008 02:06 PM

Re: Day light savings time

I didn't bother to see who wrote the response or I probably wouldn't have typed it. I am swamped at work recently and am trying to stay up to date here but cannot devote my 8 hours a day I was for the first month.

Ok.... Don't be defensive. Chill. :)

Now... Get to work. Before you boss catches you goofing off on here.

wldthng842 03-10-2008 02:12 PM

Re: Day light savings time

Sorry, to be defensive, It is my nature. See I did it again.

My boss could care less, usually. I am so far ahead of the rest of my team it won't matter. Now if I get promoted which is looking likely. Not only will I have no time to spend here, but I will be dealing with info that cannot be talked about here so I might disappear altogether. Still would browse for new hack though. Again part of my nature.

NinjaMom 03-10-2008 02:22 PM

Re: Day light savings time

Well... You could slow down on the postings here... Not only would it cut down on unnecessary posts, but it would help you to perform that much better at your job and help you to get that promotion.

And I think that would be a good thing. :)

wldthng842 03-10-2008 02:23 PM

Re: Day light savings time

The promotion is mine if the guy that has the job gets his. I have too many in's with upper management to need to work :)

I do work though, which helps. I just spend too much time at work.

Thanks for the clarification on that... Cause it seems like you spend WAY TO MUCH TIME HERE to be working. I literally work here and don't post as much as you do. LOL

wldthng842 03-10-2008 02:29 PM

Re: Day light savings time

I get that a lot. It helps to have work and this directly related. Makes doing both a lot easier. Plus I am not working full time at the moment. I am taking some PT in order to finish classes at KU and polish off the EE degree. Gives me more free time. And secured my promotion once the degree is done.
