Improving Signal Strength

I just moved to a new area due to my job and I've realized that the Sprint coverage here is pretty poor. I keep losing calls. Any idea for ways to boost signal strength? I've heard about repeaters and antennas, but I'm not sure what to get, plus I'm looking for a reasonably cheap option.

I have never heard of anything that works all that well. I know Sprint is trialing something similar to T-Mob's Hotspot at home stuff that would improve coverage at home. Are you having trouble at home/work or driving around.

Another option is to call sprint and fill out a coverage trouble ticket. I don't know where you live but here in OP they realized it should be covered, sent out a tech and put a tower up on a water tower across the street. And the best part is that I wasn't an employee at the time, it was during my brief stay at Embarq after the spin.

try wi-ex.com I'm using one of teir repeaters, definitely improves signal.....if you search around (someone posted a link on this forum for $199) you can find them cheaper.

Sprint's new Airave will be similar but will work through your high speed internet, plus of course a monthly fee.

@wldthng842: I'm mainly having problems at home, in this new area I just moved to. Filled out a coverage ticket, but I don't know how long that takes and I'm only at this location for a few months.

@Old_Man_Jenkins: Thanks, I will look into their repeaters. I was hoping for a cheaper alternative, but might just have to bite the bullet!

I worked in wireless product development for a bit and in their network lab doing testing.

Why, do you work for EQ or Sprint?

you could always buy one of those gold foil antenna stickers.... ok no really I've been searching for a much cheaper alternative myself, i'm not paying $200 for it though... the search continues...

The sprint alternative should be cheaper but you would have to deal with the monthly fee, but for free calls at home it might be worth it
