How to break the limitation of memory amount?

Hello，everyone
My phone has 256M RAM in all,after booting,the residual memory is 164M. but when I run a application which needs memory more than 90M,the phone warns me that there was not enough memory to use,the application could not work!what happened?is there a limitation of memory amount which applicantion can use in windows mobile phone?how could I solve this problem or how could I break this limitation?please help me
