Help, WinMob 6.1 not loading; activesync still works

Hey guys,

Winmo 6.1
Onyx ?? - don't know exactly which version of the ROM, from sometime in April/09 I think. Previous owner flashed it.

I was playing with the overclocking in HomeScreen++ and the phone got stuck (like it had many times before), but now it won't load windows. I get the white screen with HTC on it, then the black one with smaller white HTC writing, and that's it, I never get to the green loading Windows Mobile 6.1 screen.

Tried soft resetting obv, taking out the battery, SIM card, SD card.

Good thing is, I can see all the folders through activesync when I connect it to the PC.

How can I recover it?? And worst case backup all my stuff (tasks, contacts, etc) IF I have to hard reset? (I know...I should have looked into backing up my stuff earlier).

I would use Activesync to backup all your stuff through Outlook, and also copy EVERY folder from your "device" through exploring the device to your PC hard drive.

Then you can flash another ROM or do a hard reset.

Would a hard reset bring me back to a clean version (no apps/settings I installed) of my custom ROM or what my phone came with?

lol, which one? Stock or Onyx rom after hard reset?
