Touch Dual.. coming to america?

Well, we got the Touch to cross the pond fairly quickly.... i HOPE the Touch Dual will follow just as quickly, thats what I've got my eyes on. If its specs follow suit with the Touch/Vogue, I will have the Dual the second it comes out. The sexiness of the Touch, PLUS a hardware keyboard.

Anybody else looked into the Touch Dual????

Some pictures have old standard 3letter per key keyboards some show a phone with two letter per keys.... hope it ends up being the two letter keyboard.

"Forget about it" *New-York-City-accent*.

But really, even if it does make it to U.S. soil I highly doubt that a CDMA network will pick it up. We just got the Touch. A quick check on phonescoop would have pulled up it's Specs had it been "tentative". I dont even think it's been FCC approved yet.

But, you never know.

Well apparently its already available somewhere... and these are the HTC posted specs. Seems like a pretty nice toy to me

Why do you want this? I think HTC is stupid for putting out a Touch Dual.

Buy the touch and get the CAB for the full screen keyboard and you have a larger keyboard than the touch dual, and without the extra size! I have mine set to activate with the camera button, and works really well.

It's available only in European and select Asian markets. What I meant about the specs is if you go to www.phonescoop.com and type Touch Dual it would have pulled up a page for it had it been coming to the U.S.

I dont think it will be that much bigger. I don't know, sometimes I just like a hardware keyboard. Although, I haven't gone to my local sprint store to check out the Touch, so maybe I'll have to do that.

I don't understand this. Touch is also made by HTC. So why don't they make the Dual to have a slide out QWERTY keyboard instead of the stupid cell phone style keyboard? Can it be that hard to do?

The cell phone style keyboard is good for those mindless IM monologues. But you cannot use that to type meaningful, business style emails.

That's true, but I think I would prefer an up sliding treo-style qwerty keyboard. The whole switiching to landscape mode to type is kind of annoying, that not painful. And also I think a side sliding qwerty would definitely require the phone to be a bit larger, similar to the mogul.

On the contrary, I prefer the landscape mode. It is much better for surfing the 'Net. Why do you think computer screens are all horizontally rectangular and not veritically rectangular.

Besides, the landscape model allows more spacing between keys for easy typing....especially for those who have fat fingers.

Franky, I have the XV6700 and the size really does not bother me whatsoever. In my humble opinion, functionality is king. I will not give up functionality for size. Without functionality, the phone is nothing but a very expensive paper weight.
