Mods if I have placed this in the wrong section I appologize...wasnt sure this actually fit in the Off Topic section tho :/

It looks like mobile companies are starting to impliment an open platform community for multipe applications for non apple devices.

about the only thing that scares me and this just maybe my mind wandering but it seems that the companies are opening their own "treehouse" clubs. Man I wish I could describe this better... its like they are all starting to huddle together, look over each others shoulders, talk about the other company go back to the huddle. Its almost as tho their trying to be a monopoly with only their closest friends as members.....god I hope that made sense. :disgust:

I think it's a great idea....Open programing, programmers make one program, it works across the board, No only for "this" device, everything works with all devices.

The only problem is some apps will only be at the programmers site because they they think they are better than everyone else so, they won't put it on the marketplace, etc...and that will break the system

If apps end up in the Apple app store, they will be in the WM marketplace as well, it offers programmers more ways to sell their apps and a way to make more money.

There was a post from Microsoft on one of the sites, there is a way to take a app that was programmed for the iphone and move it over to WM pretty easily...wish I could find that link...
