Is the term "PocketPC" destined to vanish soon??

It's obvious that the smartphone market has shifted away from a portable PC with phone functions, back to a phone with PC functions like email, web, docs, etc. Microsoft has stated themselves that a phone is NOT a PC many times already while burying the PC OS crammed in a portable device known as Windows Mobile to something new. So does it stop being a PocketPC and continues as a smartphone? If so then the term PocketPC will officially be dead from now on when it comes to future devices

discuss...

Pocket PC's are history right after Iphone and Android came out. These phones needs to be in the same category and Apple product's can't be called a PC, ANd there is no other PC other than Windows, They put them all in 1 roof. Smartphones. Now PPC was left on Windows mobile/CE devices that does not have a phone function.

a pocket pc can honestly be a broad term. It can refer to any smartphone, as long as its a Personal Computer and can fit in your Pocket :)

Sure, WinMo is moving on to WinPho, but PPC is generic and can stay forever :)

Apparently they arent "geeks". Android has many ROM's available that can be switched on the fly from the SD card, My current ROM is overclocked at 950mghz with lots of visual enhancements. I also have 2 other ROMs on my card that I can switch to in less than 5 mionutes if I want to change it up :)

Pretty much, we can call them whatever we want really, except Apple, who have excluded themselves from the "PC" category intentionally.
