interesting operator thingy..

reciently, a friend of mine called me, and he was texting to the operator ( on his sidekick, yuck) and the operator was repeating anything he said.

anyone ever done this, care to sxplain it to me?

Sounds like he is describing the tty services which I think allot of phones have and carriers provide for speech impaired handicappped. I have never tried to use it but by its nature should allow you to type text to be translated to speech for a 3rd party to hear. The 6700 has these services but I have never played with them cuz I am not speech impaired in the same way I dont park in handicapped parking spots because I can walk just fine.

The best part is the operator relaying the text usually say what ever the text is. So you can call a friend and start typing some funny shit.

ummm basicllyy

you text the operator, and the operator repeats the text, then the recipient speaks, and the operator texts back to you... i think ive heard it reffered to as an ip chain, or ip relay
