*SOLVED* - Help Me Figure This WMDC Question
 

I have now have three laptop devices, today I scored a Gateway Convertiable Notebook, aka Tablet PC. The question I have is this, on one of my laptops I am able to connect my HTC TP2 without having the annoying splash screen of Windows Mobile Device Center popping up. I did not setup this device to sync with the laptop either (haven't on any of them). My device does show up in my computer though, I have the HTC device, double click and I can see the root directory along with the SD card.

I'd like to know how I can replicate that on my other two laptops, anyone have any ideas? I can't remember if I did anything special to that one laptop

on my pc, the wmdc pretty much does what it wants. sometimes when i connect the sync cable, it'll pop up. other times, i have to launch it.

I believe I solved this question. Please feel free to try it and report back to let me know if it work for you too...

open up MSCONFIG
go to the STARTUP tab
untick MICROSOFT® WINDOWS MOBILE® DEVICE CENTER
reboot
after the computer comes back up, plug in your phone and see if the splash screen does not come up
then go to COMPUTER and check to see if your mobile device is listed
TA DA!
