Memory Card question

So I have a 8GB Micro SD for my Touch Pro 2, if I Partition it in half will it read as 2 cards in windows mobile, I googled about this and did not really come up with anything solid. what I want in the end result is when I sync my music with WMP I do not want it to fill the whole card up. I would like a few GB's free for random stuff. any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Memory Card question

My guess is guess is probably not. Simply because from my experience the desktop version of Windows can only read the first partition of a multi-partition flash card. I assume the same for WinMobile. Linux and Mac would be able read all the partitions. I'm not sure if Android can read multi-partitioned SD cards, maybe someone can chime in on this.

The easiest solution would be put all your music in a single folder and use a data synchronizer, such as SyncToy, to sync the music folder from your computer to another folder on your phone. Then add that music folder to the library of a media player on your phone. The media player will be able to organize all your music by categories base on the ID3 tags of the songs.

Also please search for alternatives to WMP if possible, its probably my least favorite software next to QuickTime.

Hmm good ?, please try and let us no. I'm doubtful but will be happy to see it work.

Re: Memory Card question

I wish we could partition as well.
I keep my music categorized in folders by Genre and since my taste is very eclectic. I end up with 20 some odd folders(I like EVERYTHING but country). Then I just drag and drop a couple of folders back and forth. I have a 16gb card though.
