"Don't charge when connected to PC" option?
 

I noticed that my new Wm 6.1 phone has "Don't charge when connected to PC" option in its power tab. I don't think my WM 5.0 phone had a similar option.
What's the purpose of this new option?
Why wouldn't one want the phone charged when it's connected to PC?

this is the path for winmo 6.5
start>settings>system>power>battery> and there should be a option to disable it

It consumes power from the laptop battery, so it's possible someone may want to extend battery life.

i didnt read all the way but ^^^+1 , plus while teathering this can help with stopping ur phone from over heating(while connected via usb)

Some people have reported high speeds when this is enabled. I suspect it has to do with the USB bus both charging the device and running the data connection.

A better alternative would be to by a USB Y cable, so you can get 2 ports worth of power.
