IPhone to ever un/officially appear on the sprint network?
 

with the rumor mill call for verizon to get the iphone in january is it theoreticaly possible to unlock/jailbreak and use it with sprint if one ever chose to?

No because you cannot add an ESN to Sprint's network, but you could use it on Cricket or Boost.

Maybe the iphone will be LTE only since Verizon is rolling it out in November. That could be the reason they are pushing it so early. Then the next iphone for ATT will also be LTE because ATT is planning to follow Verizon.

well a friend mine was able to activate one on t-mobile.i just assumed that the same concept would apply concidering that verizon and sprint are both cdma.

Sprint and Verizon are more picky and require that the phone is purchased branded by them. They don't swap like GSM carriers, or some of the local market type carriers (cricket, metro).

not gonna happen..there wont be big enugh LTE coverage even the year after..not to mention voice over LTE spec hasn't been finished I think...

Boost? from what I remember only Sprint phones can be cheated their way into Boost...Page Plus Cellular would work

NOOOO ANYTHING BUT AN iPhone to Sprint!!! NOOOOO!!!! But it won't be possible, unlike GSM there is no SIM card and it goes by the ESN..they won't add phones to their ESN databases cause they want to force us to use them.

But if it only does come to verizon and not sprint..maybe sprint will allow ppl to add the iphones on their everythign plan... just to cash in on the popularity...

i only ask because my fiance LOVES her iphone and i have a seperate thread about bringing her over to my account. i just thought itd be nice to eventually get her back on an iphone while plan on moving to android

Question is , if Apple still wants % of the money of the plan it may cost extra by itself...but maybe what she needs is a good Android phone and she will never turn back...

shes not too big on the physical keyboard i don't think. the hero is cheaper. idk if she would reap the full benefits of the evo. not to mention they are hard enough to find let alone to get two. aside from the obvious, how does the evo compare to the hero? maybe i can talk her into the evo. lol

1) The Evo's processor is significantly better, 1ghz snapdragon vs 528mhz,

2) screen size - 4.3" vs 3.2"

3) Resolution - 800 x 480 vs 320 X 480, so things look a lot better.

4) Evo has HDMI out, kickstand, Wimax, upgradable to Android 3,

5) LWPs run smooth as butter, a lot of them run jagged on the Hero (or not at all)

6) 512mb RAM vs 288MB, 1GB ROM vs 512MB

7) 8MP Camera with LED Flash and 720p recording vs 5MP camera no flash CIF@15fps recording

Also, apps work better and run a lot faster on the Evo as well as games, and chicks dig apps.

ok i just suggested the evo and she wants it. now i just have to find her one after i find mine of course. lol.... if there are any women following this thread the currently has a n iphone app for some website called The Knot. does anyone have any idea if there is an android app for this?
