Sprints Annoucement Was...

well, disappointing to me

I was hoping for a better phone reveal so I could do my upgrade before I'm slapped down to being only able to upgrade my phone twice a year on April 1st.

So my question to everyone is this, do you think there will be some phone released between now and April 1st that is equal to or better than the Evo 4G/Epic?

Probably not huh?

I can hold off and hope for a price drop of the Evo/Epic!

Opinions please!

Oh yeah, am I the only one that was embarrassed for Sprint on today's announcement?

Yikes, poor Dan Hesse! I know he's trying but this isn't getting it done. How about, here's a dual core 3d android phone, or sorry about the $10 fee but we pledge to give you unlimited data with no caps, something!

what a terrible phone from a terrible phone company on a network that doesn't seem to get it, I'm glad I left them for t-mobile. This phone honestly is a pretty sad, pathetic piece of garbage. I'd rather just glue two iPhones together.

Sprint will come out with something I am sure at the MWC, also the CTIA is in March and Sprint normally announces a device or two there also. The Echo is what it is, if you don't like it wait for the HTC Pro 7 or something else they come up with.

I think people are overreacting to this release, yes it was overhyped, yes it's unappealing but people are actually talking about leaving Sprint over this on other sites. Really? You don't have to buy it, it's not the EVO 2 or 2.2 for the Epic so everybody's jumping off the bridge? Pathetic.

I think people are more upset with sprint being out of touch..all the other carriers are releasing a high end device this quarter and most likely another high end device next quarter..where sprint won't release another device till next quarter..this is bad for sprint because they are going to loose people who have their upgrades come up in Q1 and don't want to wait..

I was hoping sprint this year would get their act together and release a high end phone every quarter like Verizon does and by looks of it T-mobile and ATT are going to do that too..Sprint is the only one stuck trying to make the next iphone wannabe :/

I agree with you, its not the next best thing out there, but it is something new and I think other carriers and manufactures can build upon this concept. Some people will like/love the device and will be happy with it where others may not. Its just a phone and a new concept is all and Sprint can say they were the first to have it.

Remember the MWC is around the corner and still in this Quater so I would not worry too much about it. Everyone knows the HTC Pro 7 is around the corner and then we have the CTIA in March as well. We all know Sprint will get the iPhone as well since you can see Sprint took at the iPhone bashing in there commercials and also now Dan Hesse has no comment if Sprint will get the iPhone.

Sprint stil has one of the best phones on the market today and that's the Evo. You can't always bat a homerun, sometimes you have to play it safe and get on base.
