.thumbnails folder on sdcard directory
hey allc, I have an epic 4g and was doing some moving of files on the sdcard directory and noticed that I have a lot of small files in the ".thumbails" folder. I'm wondering if this could be deleted or the contents be deleted and the directory left, but made empty. what are the consequences of doing either of the two? the file has over 1000 thumbnail pics and is about 66mb large.

Re: .thumbnails folder on sdcard directory
thumbnails are the images you see all over your device, I wouldn't delete those. Things such as your phone image, your contacts image would be erased and you'd be left with nothing to replace them.

yeah, that is what I was thinking too.... plus, the directory size is relatively minimal and its not like the thumbnails are all over the place and not within a single directory. so it shouldn't hurt to just leave it.

Re: .thumbnails folder on sdcard directory
thumbnails are just that, thumbnail of the origanl image. Like file exploring your pc and getting to the pictures files. If you have the folder set to thumbnail veiw you get all your pics shown real small. Opening them takes you to full size (wether you us windows meadia veiwer or what have you). If you delete the .thumbnails file from your sd card it will just come back next time you filter thu your albums on your phone.
Remember the only folders that were on the card when we first got our phones (evo came with 4 rosie, htc sycn cant recall the other two) the rest of the files on your sd card were written to it as you use the phone. |
