Help for newbie :)

Hi, I'm new here and need some direction. I've had my Droid for about a year now and a couple of months ago I had an issue where it would totally freeze up on me. It's happened several times since, it would just seem to shut down. There was no rhyme or reason, sometimes I would have to just wait it out, other times I tried charging it and it seemed to work afterwards. I know what you're thinking and no the battery wasn't dead when it turned off. LOL Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Also, I would like to learn more about what I can do with my Droid (since I'm not due for an upgrade for another year). Any information on backgrounds, apps, and games (casino games) would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

I would start here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/moto-droid/

At the top you will see 3 stickied threads:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/moto-droid...ions-here.html
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/moto-droid...op-5-apps.html
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/moto-droid...our-droid.html

The third one where you need to start. Once you root your phone you will be able to do all sorts of things, including flash a new custom ROM that should get rid of all your freezing issues.

Above all you need to read, read and then read some more. Don't dive into anything until you have educated yourself on how everything works.

Thanks Johnny Bravo!

I already took a peek at the What are your top 5 apps :) Next I'll move on to where you suggested to start, How-To: Root your Droid.

Glad to help. BTW since you're new here, you should know that if someone hooks you up with something you should go and click on the "Thanks" button on the post that helped you. Good luck and have fun learning about how to mod your Droid.

It might just be broken and there's nothing you can do about it. Just contact a store, or your service provider and they'll be able to either fix it or at least tell you what the issue is. Good luck.
