At the moment..the only other phones we know that are Android and coming to sprint is the HTC Knight....and at the moment we don't even know its specs.

Re: Looking for advice on a android phone

Don't get the EVO or the Epic. I tried to tell a few people on here to wait until Gingerbread but they didn't and now they are paying for it. The EVO has a lot of issues, save rooting and getting a rom, the problems are still there. (You can check the EVO board). The Epic is the better of the two but it has problems too, mostly the keyboard (I tried it out and returned it). By the time the Epic gets is 2.2 upgrade 2.3 will be out shortly after (the Epic is NOT getting gingerbread).

All you have to do is just wait until 2.3 comes out as Android plans to slow down on so many versions, also new processors are coming out that will make the Epic and Evo old hat.

There will always be something better and no phone that does not have issues. And how do you know Epic won't get Gingerbread? do you have a source for this?

So much misinformation on here. The EVO has a bigger screen and dev community that is it. Weight does not equal build quality. The epic by far has the better amoled screen there is no question or debate in this. The keyboard is mostly unused once you get used to swype.

There is little to no information on gingerbread support for anything so it is all guessing right now. The epic has the better camera there is no question in that. MP is only one factor and the lens etc has a much larger impact. The epic is a fantastic phone and is very durable. My wifes epic has been dropped screen first on a rock and there was no damage due to its light weight and its gorilla glass screen. Sorry but the epic is very durable. The one flaw in the epic is the gps which is fixed in the froyo update soon to be released. I have used the froyo beta build and radio update. I am by no means saying the evo is bad, it is a great phone also.

The only thing I would truly pick a evo for is the hdmi output. I wouldn't use it and as such epic was the choice for me. As someone else said there is always something better coming.... so you can wait forever.

Re: Looking for advice on a android phone

I was gonna go for the evo. but its too big for my tastes. So we went to verizon.. got 2 droid inc's.. Have to say im fairy impressed with it. and from a hardware standpoint.. should fit my needs for the next year.. I dont need 9 inch screens or quadcore processors.lol

sprint really has a big hole in the whole android set.. either u go low end, or highend ( and pay extra for a service you dont have yet) They need something like the droid inc in the lineup.. Best 2 would be the old arse hero or the new lg... the rest to me is junk..

regardless Htc model androids will always have a bigger following.. samsung is just too slow on updates and such.. so I say go for the evo.. in the long run.. if your on sprint..
