LG Ally... Thoughts? Issues?
 

When I first got this device, I didnt like that Socialite was a battery drainer and the Facebook sync was blocked... It seems they unblocked it and made Socialite optional...

The only other issues I have had are:

1) 50% Bug ( Claims 50% without signal. Flipping to airplane mode and rebooting seems to help)

2) A tad slow on touch sometimes. It runs faster on Quadrant than a stock 2.1 Droid yet sometimes seems like its surprised when you touch the screen.

I am surprised its so quiet in here... This a decent device, and I carry it over the Droid cause its an LG...

My finaceé has one and it's not a bad phone. I have a Droid Eris and am jealous she has a physical keyboard however.

I traded in my Omnia 11 (i920) for an Ally. I love it. No issues thus far and I've had it about a month. It'll be updated with Froyo too. :)

Any idea when 2.2 will be released for the phone? My girl just got it and its a great phone I was just wondering when 2.2 will be coming out for the phone. I've been searching all over the net and can't find a real answer anywhere.

how do you bypass the activation screen if you dont have service on the phone? the phone was reset.

So far, according to our Verizon tipster it's not going to happen even though you hear all these rumors. Will let you know if we hear different.

You can try this to bypass activation on the LG Ally.

Just power the phone on and when it ask you to touch the green droid just touch the screen in four corners starting on top left than top right, next bottom right and bottom left. The phone will go to home screen.
