Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
This site is calling it the HTC Incredible HD. Not sure if this is a good name or not but I'm liking the looks of it and might wait for it to upgrade my D1.
http://www.softsailor.com/news/40089...s-q4-2010.html I'm still hunting more information myself. |
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
It sounds like an Evo for Verizon. I'm waiting for LTE before I get another phone.
|
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
To long of a wait. New smartphones with LTE won't be out till this time next year.

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
I was thinking about getting Droid X for its screen size, performance in processing and battery life, or Samsung Fascinated for it's GPU.
Now, looks like I will have to wait few more months to find out what this HTC android phone will come out equipped.. |
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
Im sure its somthing like or related to the evo... so verizon can steal some of sprints thunder.. I could care less bout verizon.. overpriced for what they offer plan wise..

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
With my Verizon HTC TouchPro2 eligible for upgrade in October, this might be it's replacement. Anybody know of a firm release date yet?
|
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
We barely know specs of this device. So right now there is no speculative release date let alone a firm one.

Run, don't walk to any of the new Droid phones!!! That TP2 is such a piece of pig dung compared to my Inc.!!!! Chris |
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
Looks interesting, too bad it's not just like the EVO, as it would have been nice to have more shared accessories..

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
I think verizon is over-doing it with the droids..lol At the rate they are going its gonna be like the great video game crash of the 80's..lol I understand choices.. but man... Im so sick of hey is that a droid!!! lol im like no thats a verizon thing. i have a android phone on sprint called the hero.. Oh well the droid is better.lol aaargggg....

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
I could not wait any longer.. so I am going with Droid X. :P
At least I will benefit the good battery life and big screen. |
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
That HTC phone with a keyboard, what I know about is its rumored to have a 4inch screen (evo is 4.3), 1.2GHz cpu, and is a GSM/CDMA world phone.

After looking at the shots of the new Desire HD I think I will be waiting for this phone assuming it is similar to the new Desire anyways. :) |

But my question is which would be a better phone for me? I use my phone for business and am on it for sometimes 3000 minutes a month. I have over 1500 contacts and use my calendar to keep track of my schedule. I also use the phone to read my email but not to send too much but that could change. I'm ready to give up my MS Outlook in place of Google mail. So with the Fascinate being my likely choice with the DINC a close second, which one should I be looking at and what new droids are due out around the end of October? |
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
I've been looking for about 6 weeks now. I was 2 on my new every 2 on Monday (9/13)...and I still can't make up my mind.
IMO... DINC = fast, sense, perfect size, con: battery DX = awesome screen, flat, fast, con: it's HUGE D2 = very nice, has keyboard like my current TP, con: doesn't wow me at lunch today...I checked out the Fascinate...and I have to say...I liked it. It's not a full Android, but I heard it can be rooted to become one. Don't know. What to do? |

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
Motorola phones get better battery life than HTC phones. I'd go for the D2 if you do e-mail a lot.

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
What is all the BING hate about on the Android forums? I have the Imagio and have had both Google Maps and Bing for a long time (pretty much since I got the phone) and I actually prefer to use Bing over Google. I never had anything for or against Bing or Google, I kind of used both and really liked the ability that Bing has where I can hit the speach softkey and just tell it the name of a business or type of buisiness I want to locate and it searches and finds them under the LOCAL tab. Then I hit the button for navigate and it does all the work for me and provides free turn by turn. Overall, BING made me happy with how well it works no matter where I am. I find food, movies, motorcycle shops... anything I want or need with speach to text search in Bing.
I am looking at the Samsung because it is an Android and already has the search companion that I prefer to use anyways.... but the screen size of that Droid X is calling to me! Maybe I can get Bing on the X? |
Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
The Bing hate is Google fanboys. Not sure why.
Yes, you can get Bing on the X. There is a Bing app in the market. :) |
I know out doesn't have a front having camera do its useless

Re: New HTC android phone for Verizon
^^^dunno about that. my droid x destroys the incredible i had in terms of battery life. but honestly battery life is mostly a really subjective thing though, just like cellular service, its gonna vary for everyone
EDIT: heres an article i found about: Android Battery Tests |

if we aren't comparing the same roms then I agree, htc rom kills battery with the sense incorporated
