Funny, Oracle isn't suing any of the other cell phone manufacturers that create an OS that utilizes Java.

Go after the big guy first. Really though, Google did not do its homework. If Google were in Oracle's position, Google would be doing exactly the same.

The purchase included the intellectual property. Again, Google did not do its homework.

I guess Oracle (lawyers) saw it's opportunity to rack in the big bucks..

EDIT: Slowly I tend to see why Jobs said what he said about Java and Flash.. in the long run regardless of the exact words used, his choice is/was probably on the money.. (pun)

They will find a way around it somehow or make a deal.

For one the andriod os is open source and is not what is being sold.

The hardware is what is being sold not the os. The os just happens to be on the phone and is a good selling point.

I guess things could have changed and i might be wrong about the open source thing though....

They are seeking to shut down Android, like that will happen. *rolls eyes*

Google has pockets so they will probably just settle.

Oracle could sue the other cell phone makers for Java based OS, but they picked Google :)

If they shut down Android they would have more people tithe door with pitchforks and torches than they could shake a stick at.

Aside that smarter move would to be directly involved with its development and gain with its growth... if it came down to a settlement.
