Newbie android questions

Hey all,
I'll be switching to android soon and was wondering if you could help me. I've been a winmo person forever and have been sharing contacts and calendars with my wife just by syncing with outlook. With android and google, is there a way to have two phones sync to the same calendars and contacts, but have different gmail accounts? Any advice/help is appreciated.

Try this for contacts:http://www.techrena.net/solutions/ex...gmail-account/

Try this for Calendar:

TO EXPORT:
With Google Calendar, you can export content from a specific calendar or from all your calendars at once.

Exporting content from a specific calendar
Follow these steps to export one of your calendars:

In the calendar list on the left side of the page, click the down-arrow next to the appropriate calendar and select Calendar settings. (Alternatively, click the Settings link at the bottom of the calendar list, then click the appropriate calendar.)
Click the ICAL button in the 'Private Address' section at the bottom of the page, and click the displayed URL.
Save the exported file to the desired folder on your computer.
If you receive a 'Feed Processing Error' message when exporting events, please make sure you're using your calendar's private iCalendar address ('Private Address'). You can only use your calendar's public iCalendar address ('Calendar Address') to export events when your calendar is publicly shared. Learn how to share your calendar with others.

Exporting content from all calendars in your 'My Calendars' list
Here's how you can export all the calendars in your 'My Calendars' list at once:

At the bottom of the calendar list on the left side of the page, click the Settings link .
On the Calendar Settings page, click the Export calendars link at the bottom of the My Calendars section.
In the resulting compressed folder, you'll see an ICS file for each of the calendars you have permission to 'Make changes and manage sharing' for.
Keep in mind that you won't be able to bulk export calendars in your Other Calendars list (for example, public calendars you've added to your list, shared calendars with 'view' access only, etc.)

TO IMPORT:
Import events from iCalendar or CSV filesPrint
To import events from iCalendar or CSV files, just follow these steps:

Click the Add down-arrow button at the bottom of the calendar list on the left side of the page, and select Import Calendar.
Click Browse and choose the file that contains your events, then click Open.
Select the Google Calendar where you'd like to import events, then click Import.
Please note that recurring events may not be recognized when importing events from CSV files. In this case, individual items will be created for recurring events that fall between the dates you've selected.

Thanks Carla, that is a good place for me to start. Our ultimate goal is to have it so if one of us makes a change to the calendar or to edit or add a contact it will automatically show up on the other phone. There have been a ton of times where one of us has left our phone at home or in the car and needed the info to be on the other person's.

Only current way to do exactly what you describe is through Exchange Active Sync.

Or he can take the free option and use Funambol or SyncML...

Edit:

example AOL offers free sync via funambol

not sure how the contacts will work with Carla's suggestion but I know that the calendar works great. Allows me and my fiance to have separate calendars but both show up on each others and on my droid. What I like most is that it color codes each calendar for you so that I can look at my droid and know what both of us should be doing...Phil
