To those having any issues importing Calk's ROM and SYS these are the steps that I've taken, using 23008 as an example but can be done with any available

unpack Calk's 28008.RAR
Navigate to SYS and copy paste 23008 into Kitchen\SYS\
Navigate to ROM\Shared\23008 and copy paste that into Kitchen\ROM\Shared
Finally go to Kitchen\ROM\Touch_Pro2 make a duplicate copy of the 23005
folder w/OEMXipKernel and rename it 23008. Done!

Yes, that is the correct way to take Calk's Sys and import it into his kitchen. We are trying to take someone else's raw OS files and put them into Calk's kitchen.

Here we go again...

Could someone please explain to us all how to take these 'raw' files and properly organize them into Calk's kitchen? TIA

BTW - WisdomWolfx - I appreciate you trying to help and DigitalAttic - I appreciate you posting the files.

Thanks guys, maybe it's a WM 6.1 specific issue in the kitchen. A newer version of Google Maps came out (3.3.1 #0, check software forum) and tower based location works and layers are fixed. But even with the older 3.2.1 version, tower based location doesn't work when cooking a 6.1 ROM. It simply says "unable to determine your location" or something like that. However, my location with Manila 2.1 (Sense) works fine. Tried all the fixes posted (quickgps, soft resetting after quickgps, my location then google maps.) and none of them worked.

The Difference between 3.2.1, 3.3.0 and 3.3.1 is how good the tower lock is.

But using the Kitchen 28005 on Sprint I could not get a tower lock at all on any Google Version. And the GPS Lock was dreadfully slow because of it. I gave up on Kitchen until it's sorted out.

I tried all sorts of stuff. I even tried copying over the folders from SSK latest kitchen, although I didn't really expect that to work. I finally gave up and just built a ROM from 28008 as I had intended to do earlier. I guess we'll just have to sit and wait for Calkulin to chime in with either an updated SYS or instructions on how to make use of these leaks. I guess I'll be skipping 28009, but using 28008 for a while. Ahh, the irony.
