Ok this is going to be for everyone that say that iphone is dead and android is better and etc etc..

This thread isnt for you. this thread is for people that want the simplicty the ease of use and the finger friendly design of the iphone yet keeping the full potential of a mini pc in the palm of your hand.


furthermore this rom isnt going to be a "clone" its more like a true attempt to make the wm 6.5 regardless of the com more user-fingerfriendly more like a phone but with a pc when needed.

Sorry if i cant put my point across i have difficulty speaking in english because its not my native tongue im cuban so my native tongue is spanish ;/


ok to answer some questions that might show up .:

1.im not going to make a "iphone theme" im actually trying to make a whole new experience based on the iphones functionality and ease of use

2.this rom will include everything that might be needed so that it feels like a out of box scenario.

3.this rom wont look like the iphone instead it will look better it will be a iphone brought to the windows universe in other words; in iphone the homescreen is basicly tap n go tap n go tap n go this will be the same but it will have one thing the iphone doesnt have it will have animated icons and animated menus and animated basicly everything it will be eyecandy on steroids.
also; it will work better letting the user change every aspect of the phone without needing to plug it in to a pc. it iwll be stripped of all memory hogging applications and will have alot of tweaks implemented so that it will stay running fast and smooth even if you are careless and run many programs without closing the previous ones.
aswell; the rom will have many programs already integrated right out the block that many users will find comforting to have installed without really needing to install.

well think of it this way i had an iphone since it first came out i also bought the 3g but then i moved and where i relocated there isnt 3g coverage so i am now a proud user of verizon and a PRO2 but i miss the simplicity of the iphone aswell as the ease of use so i want to clone that to our PRO2 i would love to do it to the imagio wich looks like the iphone but its currently SSPLed so until a HARDSPL gets made for it im working on the import for the PRO2 so thats what my 2 cents.

a few suggestions I was thinking of as I was thinking of making a meizu themed rom
you can pull images from the meizu m8 dump and not necessarily iphone to distinguish yourself from iphone and add a touch of uniqueness to your own work

one thing I have been toying around with is message popup color. Someone on xda developers discovered how to change the color of windows popup messages

you can also consider what sys are you using? while some prefer stability (21xxx builds) many (myself included) prefer the speed and design elements being implemented by com 3 - 5 branches of the windows mobile 6.5.1 processes. Perhaps a rom including both elements?

I dunno if I'm stepping on toes but juicy did a wonderful port of the htc directional arrows from the htc leo which really intrigued me and make the windows experience just that much better cosmetically

its up to you personally I mean what do you want in the rom?

and plus this forum is also for rom releases. It is under RARE circumstances that individuals can discuss roms save from the unlocker anticipation

Plus, if comes out with something new and inovated for WM, I am sure their are a lot of people that will try it out.....He said it isn't an exact copy but based off of the idea.

Let's face it. Ever since the iPhone came out, almost every WM app is something that is trying to copy the iphone. If it wasn't for the iPhone we would probably still be trying to make non finger friendly apps, lol.

S2U2 was something that was copying the iPhone and look how many people use it now.

I say give the guy a chance but, it sounds like he has a tough job ahead of him to complete his mission based on his first post.......

I'll look to xda for that =)
but its not really a port per se...more like taking elements from one OS and trying our best to integrate them to wm so users have the best of both worlds - much akin to SAC's roms.

also stability too but in many cases, com 3 does give faster and more stable than com1, but com 4 is the fastest branch, but has several issues not implemented and the branches haven't merged yet so its up in the air

i like your ideas. the simple iphone interface is very easy to use. its just like you said, touch and go. tf3d is too bloated, and you still have to go here and there to get to where you wanted to go.

here is a screen capture of my interface for the vga screen, everything is on the home screen, txt, miss calls, call history access, etc... to access most of everything, its just a simple click.

no, its' not. its a very simple rltoday theme. run natively on WM today screen. its very small, only about a few k of memory.

didn't even know rltoday went that far
and I have to pull back my statement of never using rltoday - I did on my xv6700 back in 08 when a developer made a manila theme for it and it was a memory hog

sorry guys, this will have to be my last post on this thread concerning the rltoday theme. my intention is not to hijack op's thread. if you have a question concerning the theme, you can send me a prt msg.


i'm happy to contribute my time to this project if the poisonxa intents on having rltoday as the default GUI and i welcome him to incoporate my theme. im looking to addmulti tabs and weather too.

currently i have stopped developing the rltoday theme since i couldnt find a program that hides the bottom bar on the tp2. nuenobar and other program designed to hide the bottom bar no longer work on the tp2 wvga screen.

that was one thing I was worried about but then in thinking of the rom...would a complete removal of the start bar be necessary?

If the unit has a small screen like the tp1 or based on 6.1/6.5 yes, but i am hoping this is based on 6.5.1 or the 6.5s +23030's the start button and x are part of the bottom softkey bar and even on the tp1 the iphonetoday today screen with the +23030 bottom bar LOOKED GREAT and was very functional!
TP2 has a big screen and remember poisonx did say this is NOT A CLONE.
It does not need to resemble the fruity phone just take the ease of use.

By the way, iphonetoday used 1/3 the memory of manila and you can have an unlimited amount of pages.

oh I know a lot about iphone today I made a youtube vid of an earlier com3 build with it
but still it remains to be seen as far as what is going to happen with the rom...I have to retool somethings in my kitchen and change some files around to reflect some meizu m8 images and sounds

Good luck with the project. Just an FYI to take a look at pointUI home 2. It has the point and go features as a GUI replacement as compared to touch flo. Lots of user created content for it as well.
