Re: [STOCK ROM COLLECTION] RhodiumW Stock ROMs [Telus VZW SPCS USC] UPDATE 3/19/10

hey guys. so i have an old version of mightyrom installed (from jan2010) and i am going to flash the new stock sprint rom. i have done the hardspl unlock (obviously, since i have mightyrom) but my question is if i install the new stock sprint rom will i need to re-unlock the hspl or will my phone remain unlocked?

my thinking goes like this...

i want to update my phone to a newer rom, i'm going to update to the sprint rom to get the newer radio and then if i don't like it (which i bet i won't) i'll be moving to the latest mightyrom release. if anyone would be kind enough to inform me of how to go about this intelligently i will be very grateful.

1) do i need to do anything prior to flashing to the new stock sprint rom?
2) after flashing to the stock sprint rom, do i need to unlock the HSPL again in order to flash the newest mightyrom?
3) since i have a jan2010 release of mightyrom on my phone, can i use SPB back up to back up all my data prior to flashing to the stock sprint rom or will the backup not be importable to the new sprint rom? can i import the data from spb backup to the new mightyrom?

thank you in advance!

1. no
2. no, your phone will remain unlocked.
3. as long as you only backup pim data, like contacts, appt., calendar, texts, emails. you should never do settings and programs when flashing to a different rom.

You can also still get the stock ROM as released from Microsoft and Sprint from this link http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ce-mobile.mspx

dude...there's no rom download at that page. that's for getting Office Mobile 6.1.
the official site to get the sprint stock rom is here http://www.htc.com/us/support/touch-...int/downloads/

Re: [STOCK ROM COLLECTION] RhodiumW Stock ROMs [Telus VZW SPCS USC] UPDATE 3/19/10

Hello,

I know this is wildly noobish, but I've been poking around for several hours and haven't been able to set myself straight. I tried downloading a .cab file that would supposedly add a percentage meter above my battery. Unfortunately, it didn't work (stock Sprint 6.5), and mucked up the top bar a bit (I now have a random black box next to the icon, I can't pull up my notifications, and the battery meter always shows full). I tried uninstalling the battery cab, but it didn't seem to undo anything.

Is this something I can fix somehow? Alternatively, is this the kind of thing I need to flash the rom over? And if so, do I want to go back to the stock rom, or is there some benefit to using a non-stock rom (I've been looking at some by MightRom, but that's confused me even more)?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

I'm trying to download the original rom from the sprint tp2 but the link doesn't seem to be working.

Looks like I need to return my phone and sorry for the noob ?, but not finding an answer elsewhere...

Can I reflash back to stock (6.5) using the HTC 6.5 update or should I use the one provided here ?

Thanks in advance.
