There are bunch of different mods/apps that'll do this. Try HDWall over at XDA. It looks complicated, but it's really easy, and it'll create a cab file for this very purpose.

Another app I've used with success in doing this is BG Tweak. It doesn't create a cab file, but uses some hacks to make the top and bottom bars transparent giving you a full screen wallpaper.

can anybody lead me to the may 31st version I am not happy with cookie 1.8 either but I dont have the last update to the rom before 1.8, anybody?

Is there really any need to run the carrier provisioning? I install the Sprint one each time their is an update to this rom and I don't think I've ever noticed it do anything, even the times I've forgot to run it.

I've been running 6-11 23xx Co0kie and I haven't had any lock ups or manila crashes since it released. I did have issues with the 6-7 release. So I would say its worth a try; everything seems to be working as intended. Now it's time to move on to the Dinik Glass themed 23xxx

skype cooked into the ROM's - doable? also back to NRG after a brief hiatus with SPB mobile Shell 3.5.5 on top of NRG's titanium - too many lockups due to SPB's issues. now running Energy.RHODCDMA.23569.Sense2.5.Cookie.Dinik.Glass. Jun.11 for a few hours - no issues at all so far - lookin good....
