I'm going to have to disagree here. I was really looking forward to using Juicy's ROM, but I have noticed some serious issues for me that are making me go back to MightyRom's. I hard resetted after installing Juicy's ROM and have noticed performance really suffer only after a few hours of usage forcing me to softreset 3 times already today. I've only installed one application (MagiCall, which I also uninstalled to test) so I don't think there are any incompatibiliy issues.

Even though it shows about 55 - 65% in free memory, it feels really slow. Typing messages in SMS is delayed by a few seconds. Switching to the hardware keyboard is about a 3 second delay. The whole disable HTC SMS app is really odd as I would expect it to open WM SMS when I click on a message but instead it does nothing so all I can do is tap All Messages. It's frozen on me quite a few times just after 1 day of moderate usage. Opening Facebook in the HTC browser was pretty slow even though dragging around in the page felt a little snappier.

The fact that this version of Manila is not landscape-compatible is a minor problem for me, but wasn't a problem in 2.1. Sorry fellas, I'm going back to Mighty until some of these issues are resolved.

"Sorry fellas.........."???

Why are you apologizing?

Well having manilla take you directly to the text message would at least be a big improvement.

True, for those who at least want the tab to link to something.

Guys, lets put our heads together and figure out how to make this happen!

It should be a simple registry or dll tweak that tells Manilla what to link to when the text preview it tapped. Right now it tells it to go to the HTC messaging message (which has been disabled) - it just needs to be told to go to the message in WM messaging.

This would bring the rom pretty damn close to perfection...

Smart programmers, please step up!

DISCLAIMER: This is by no means directed at any particualr person...

I think what we're missing here guys is to each it's own. We all have our personal preference and just becasue my personal preference does not equate to yours does NOT mean that the ROM is useless or it's "broke"....

I for one loved the HTC Messaging client, but it was eye candy and that's it...I don't even use the WM Messaging, I use an old Threaded SMS cab from back in the day that i have been using on every single phone i have had since the 6700...and guess what, I have it mapped to hardware key, it pops up my text message when i receive with pic, and i love it!

Juicy has done a great job with his ROM development. If you don't like his ROM or his decisions on the ROM, cook your own or jump to another. No need to apologize in the thread. I tried MightyMike's and NRG and didn't like either, but i'm sure not gonna go in the thread and talk about how much the ROMS suck (They don't suck btw, just not my preference)...lol

I swear if i see one more "back to 2.1 for me" statement, i'll pull my hair out...(I'm completely bald btw). We all knew what we were flashing to prior to flashing. Fact: 2.5 does not support ladnscape....Fact: 2.5 does not support MMS.....Fact: if we had a better processor HTC Messaging would run fine...

It's pointless to keep going on and on about the same crap day after day... :-) Come to think about it, There's probably a reason why Juicy never responds to those posts...

As stated earlier, this is not directed at any particular person....Ok, I am off my soap box now...

I am trying a different ROM as I could not get a data connection on R6. It seems to be working fine with a different ROM. Juicy R5 worked great, perhaps I should have stayed there...

Thanks for the reply.

Doug M.

My brief excursion on another ROM has come to an end. I am back on R6. Provisioning worked fine this time. However, I cannot find the Internet Sharing app. Am I overlooking this or is that not a part of the Juicy ROM? All I can find is WiFi SHaring which eats my battery. I use the Tethering quite a bit.

Thanks for the help.

Doug M.
